First Assassin's Creed PS3 TV Ad

So they took an old trailer and slapped on some extra system-specific stuff at the end? Don't a lot of commercials for multi-platform games do this?

Soooo.....basically just the CG movie running in Ubbisofts booth from 2 E3's ago? with a PS3 bumper on the end.

I just got finished watching the commercial on youtube. I remember this past weekend that a few fans of the Playstation 3 saying that the add said that Assassin Creed was exclusive. That might have been a joke, but I can say all Sony is doing is helping to advertise the game for UBISOFT. There is no word of exclusive in the ad. I can actually see Microsoft helping to advertise the game too for the 360 version. Like how many companies advertised Soul Caliber 2 for Namco.

I saw the new AC ad during the Pats-Colts game

Everyone around me was like "WOW". Then one guy said "this game looks cool", and then we hear someone in the back of the bar and he says "Only for PS3, awesome". Then the hot blonde bartender looks at me and says "It is incredible that this package is only for $399" and winks at me

.

It excites the hardcore PS3 fans to see Sony not throwing in the towel.

Or it might be that it is Assasins Creed and its one of the most hyped and best looking games this generation. This is like a one time commercial like Halo 3 it is a big deal. =)

What is GAF's fascination with commercials recently?

In the past we watched WWF and WCW to catch commercials of soul calibur, and Ace Combat. MGS2 commercial had a thread that aired during a wrestling show. Good times. History repeats itself.

Edit: also these days with cameras and TVR type gadgets, those commercials can be uploaded to something like youtube so fast and easy. Everything is streamlined these days. The future am here.

What I find funny is that Sony fans got so angry at the 360 Madden ads, yet the Microsoft fans don't give a shit about Sony paying for advertising exclusives.

There's no Xbox sign at the end at all??

Wow... Sony pulling an Xboat on this one

Umm.. No?
There are two ways how something is advertised:

1. Either the publisher pays for all the expenses of the ads. That way, all the logos are shown.
2. Sony/MS/Tendo pays for all the expenses of the ads under the condition that it's their logo shown in the end.

Sony paid for the ad. They have the right to have their logo. Plus, Assassin's Creed was a PS3 exclusive that Sony lost, so i guess this is one way of saying "im sorry" :/

that is because Microsoft fans are humble and don't like to show off or complain. It is probably why they are getting a lot of respect on forums and in the media. They are very honest and accepting.

Wait, this is only the beginning. This thread will go to places.

Exactly.

I doubt it. As I've said in other threads, the only things that any console proponent really need worry/stress about is overall developer/publisher support, and 360 fans can pretty much rest easy on that score.

Honest about how they feel about non-caucasian races at least, amirite?

It never was an exclusive :p The first time the game was shown it was behind doors on a 360 when it was still being advertised as PS3 only.

Assassin's Creed was NEVER exclusive. It was leaked that it was to be multiplatform before it was even announced.

EDIT: Gah. Beaten.

Yeah, we see that in your post. You're probably hugging your knees now, and a single mantear is sliding down your cheek.

What? I'm not a Microsoft fanboy. I couldn't care less who gets exclusives on what commercials. I'm just comparing two sides.

Why on God's green and verdant Earth would an Xbox Proponent by crying over this? They'll still be able to play it. There's no reported difference between the two versions.

He was describing himself :lol

It was basically hinted that Ubi gave Sony the opportunity to make it exclusive/timed but turned it down. The same sort of thing most likely happened with GTA4. This was back when Kutaragi was still pulling the strings, or lack of pulling actually.

In fact, I haven't even played my XBox 360 since January. I don't see much reason for me to have it. I have a good PC, and don't care for Halo.

I saw an Assassin's Creed 360 ad on Canadian TV earlier today that made no mention of the PS3 version. Showed the 360 game box at the end and everything.

AC 360 will still sell double (or more) than what the PS3 version sells. Supposedly the games are identical but this is UBI. I don't think any 360 owner has any reason to fear.

Seriously, maybe this is a HUGE deal to you guys, but no one else really cares...

If it wasn't something that was an issue neither Sony or MS would fork out the money in order to market specific multiplatform 3rd party games.
