looks like a port of the console version.

its simply a port of the xbox version with a slight graphical upgrade. i wonder if this will be out in nov or dec because id rather just wait and get this instead of the xbox version

I wonder why they didn't port the PC version over to X360.

That´s a really good question. But I think they do it in the future, but well if they can sell some games with this version, they think why not...

why is everyone bashing this??? if youve played the demo over live its extremely fun and this game looks to be a great title.

It seems they are bashing it graphics wise. And I would have to agree with them. It doesn't look like it's all that "next-gen".

Well, I don´t bash the game, I only say they should improve the graphics, because they aren´t really looking Next-Gen.

Has EA simply given up to push the envelope (or even make it impressive) when it comes to next-gen graphic? i have a feeling that the answer is a resounding YES (minus the new Fight Night).

EA are willing to set the bar low to meet release dates, shame really because this could look alot better.

EAs next gen Lineup does not have a single stand out title so far on 360.

I think MS should ask for their dev kits back. What is wrong with EA?

Why are they not bringing the PC version to Xbox 360? Why are they porting a PS2 game to Xbox 360?

The PC version chugs with 512mb ram.

The system architecture is completely different; with some work Dice could have made use of the huge bandwidth of X360 and should have got BF2 to run smoothly run smoothly.

This looks worse than Battlefield 1942 and that game came out at least 3 years ago.

It's strange to me that id can successfully bring Doom 3 to Xbox, Ubisoft can successfully bring Far Cry to Xbox, Valve can successfully bring Half-Life 2 to Xbox, Infinity Ward can successfully bring Call of Duty to Xbox 360, but EA seem completely incapable of bringing Battlefield not only to Xbox, but to Xbox 360 as well.

512MB of RAM in a PC is not equivalent to the 512MB of dedicated RAM in Xbox 360. Not to mention that the 360 should be able to run a current gen game like Battlefield 2 with 2 CPU cores tied behind it's back. Oh yeah and the 360 has a graphics card that is leagues ahead of current PC graphics cards. There really is no excuse.

The reality is that the PS2 is probably still the target platform for all of EA's console games (including their 1st gen Xbox 360 games). And they will probably shift to PS3 being their target platform next year.

Pre-occupied...

The best looking next gen EA game so far has been the boxing game going by the video and recent GI preview screens.

Are you sure that you understand the differences between doom3, farcry, call of duty and bf2 when it comes to gameplay differences?

I understand that Xbox 360 is far more powerful than the top of the line gaming PCs on the market today and that the people saying the 360 can't handle Battlefield are full of shit.

Funny how most people here used to say that graphics don't matter, gameplay does. Geez guys, if it plays good it can have DC graphics for all I care. Just be glad you're getting it.

Ok great then what's the point of spending $400 on a new system? If only gameplay mattered we'd still be playing PSOne games.

Because it's reasonable to expect a next-gen version of the game to look at least as good as the PC version?

for the second time this thread. its not finished product, theyve released a totla of what 5 battlefield 360 shots???

every game has made a significant jump since early development to final product and i dont expect this to be any different from those titles

That's fine and could very well be true... but you are blaming the wrong people. Blame EA for releasing shit screenshots, not GAF for saying they look like shit.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and predict a drop in the sales of EA games across the board for this next generation. You look at the titles thus far, and you see the words "settle," "bottom line," and "good enough" written all over them. Only they're not going to be good enough, when the consoles running them command premium prices and the games themselves are $10 more - especially when you compare their titles to other companies' titles in the same genres. EA got away with a lot of lazy games this generation; I don't think that will be the case this go around.

But let's see here, when Madden/Need for Speed Most Wanted screens were released we were expecting them to have a significant jump months later, but what do we see?
