Needs more sparks.

Wyzdom said:And about Burnout4, is there any "next-gen" version announced? There's definetely a PS2 / Xbox version coming.
Come on, Blimblim, what's to see in this shot. Maybe you have insider info on this, but I only have this scan to go on and I don't anything particularly special about the texturing, geometry or effects to make a definitive call that its next gen. Esp. if you're going to claim what we see here isn't even possible on a "totally optimized Xbox engine". There's nothing THAT good in this shot!Blimblim said:Ho please, how can anyone in his right mind (so obviously not Izzy) think this is a shot from a current generation title ? Especially a multiplatform title! Criterion might be coding wizards, but even a totally optimized Xbox engine would have a very hard time getting these graphics at 60 fps. It's a scan so it's difficult to judge the textures, but the bricks on the buildings look very detailed to me, and there is a quite high number of polygons on this screen, unless the stairs are done with a big texture...
Ho well, back to viral marketing for me.
ninge said:people expecting much more than this kind of step up for next gen are gonna be dissapointed...
There's more pics?Izzy said:I have the mag right in front of me. If that's a PS2 game, it's looking good. But if that's a Xenon game - no buy. I'd expect more from the next gen Burnout.
Have you seen next-gen Prince of Persia? How was it?Wyzdom said:No shit? I've seen some Ubi next-gen and you are the one that will be surprised. The step is at least "N64 to PS2" style. Next-gen is gonna look better quite alot.

OMGTWF NEXT-GEN!!!
gofreak said:If the scan doesn't lie (and note that it well might), it really does just look like a current gen game + high res/better textures + AA + AF + a couple of better spot effects, like the reflection in the car. Poly-wise, it's certainly nothing this gen couldn't handle, especially with the distant fogging.
So I'm leaning on it being a Xenon game, but definitely a current-gen-to-Xenon port, with a few easy upgrades along the way (see above).
gofreak said:OK, the change in artstyle may be throwing me, but that certainly looks more impressive. Funnily enough, though, the IQ doesn't look as good as in the other shot :lol But yeah, that's better for sure.
edit - or else this isn't really a Burnout 4 pic?![]()

OMGTWF NEXT-GEN!!!
u_neek said:Wyzdom, tell us about Ubi's next gen gamesNOW!
Iamthegamer said:Wow, it's just one screenshot. It shows pretty much nothing, other than Burnout 3 can be put through a brown filter to look "gritty". I hope they don't tack on a lame story or anything. I just want some extremely kick ass car crashing..
wtf does that mean ?drohne said:![]()
if this is what next gen games look like, i'm not buying any more consoles.
It is widely known to be in development for both XB2 and current gen -- as with most EA titles -- the only question is which platform is the base.Kobold said:According to EA Netherlands - both.
I can't tell you what the shot is from though. So small and low quality, could be either.
Yea widely known since I published the EA releaselist on Xboxworld.nl and it got posted by IGN and the such!Rhindle said:It is widely known to be in development for both XB2 and current gen -- as with most EA titles -- the only question is which platform is the base.

I think it looks great myself..considering they're not working with ATI final xbox2 GPU. That's if these are actually xbox2 screensBlimblim said:Ho please, how can anyone in his right mind (so obviously not Izzy) think this is a shot from a current generation title ? That's exactly what a next gen title is. The shot looks great to me. I haven't seen those type of textures on the building in any current gen games.look like a current gen game + high res/better textures + AA + AF + a couple of better spot effects
