All very high reviews.......looks like im going to pick this game up later.
I just hope the game is long enough to justify a day one purchase....any word on the length of the game?
Campaign is about 15-20 hours.

Huh i thought 8 to 12 hrs.
This is according to the developers and several reviews. It all really depends on your playing style (and the difficulty level you choose).
So 8 to 12 hours. Never trust developers on that.
Not true, I enjoy assassin's creed!
That never started as a deep, complex game though.
Does anyone know if the PC version is Steamworks? It's £19.85 at ShopTo for the retail version so I'll buy it there if it can be activated on Steam.
This week there will be a community event @IOI. Some forum members have been invited to play the game. More impressions will follow. IOI has arranged everything: hotel, the flight etc.
You can say what you want, but IOI is one of the most generous developers in the business.
I know, but it's gonna be redeemed when Derrick plays the game and realises that it is the greatest game he's ever played in his life. He will then apologise to the whole of GAF for ever doubting the game.

When I play Blood Money now I sit back and think "the only way this could be better is if it had checkpoints and hints telling me everything".
I haven't really thought about this but one of my favorite things in Hitman is shooting someone in the face with my fully upgraded silenced Silverballer and having them do a backflip because of the stupid ragdoll physics. I'm going to assume they've made things a bit more realistic in that respect.
Ya when I played morrowind the first thing I thought was, "this game is great but I wish it was dumbed down completely, take away the RPG mechanics, quests are way to complicated, and make dungeons a straight path."
Few years later I got skyrim! Perfect
Why hasn't Messi been banned for obviously promoting his vested (Future PR agency, Eidos community manager, whatever) interest posting this?
Contracts mode, different playstyle, different difficulty. Absolution will last plenty of hours.

ugh, the buggy checkpoint system is going to be annoying as hell.
for those interested, 4PP is playing Blood Money (PC) right now.

Guy clearly has no clue what he's doing.
It's frustrating watching players just run around aimlessly killing everyone. Guy clearly has no clue what he's doing.

I'm doing that in Hitman 2It's frustrating watching players just run around aimlessly killing everyone. Guy clearly has no clue what he's doing.

I feel like I'm missing something here.
Talk about a potential crises adverted. That would have killed the series before the first preview. What were they smoking when they even thought about such a stupid idea?

They were coming down from the Kane & Lynch high.
K&L2 was awesome (well, aside from gameplay and gamedesign, those were complete shit).
LOL, is this a joke post?
Don't be silly, Derrick can't enjoy games.
No.
I think as a game it's shit, but they nailed the atmosphere and "feel" they were going for pretty damn good.
If i were to review it i would give it a 6/10 or even 5/10, but i'd give the presentation a 9/10.
And since his post was specific about concept ideas and style (not gamedesign) i said that K&L2 was awesome (implying: in that regard).

lol, nonsense. Derrick has good taste and sticks to his guns. I'd take 1 million Derricks over these Call of Duty teenagers that need to be spoon-fed shit and can't enjoy a game unless you press A for awesome.

Agreed, but would it really hurt for him to be optimistic for once?
It was a small joke. I have no idea what being optimistic has to do with teenagers playing Call of Duty though.

I value his opinion, because like me, he only (at least mostly) cares about single player game and storyline. Very few of us left.
I'm feeling the love here <3
If it helps I think Far Cry 3 (next big game coming up) might only be kind of bad.
