First Hitman: Absolution reviews hit

This week there will be a community event @IOI. Some forum members have been invited to play the game. More impressions will follow. IOI has arranged everything: hotel, the flight etc.

You can say what you want, but IOI is one of the most generous developers in the business.

A cynical person would say they're just buying opinions. But any developer that acknowledges fans on a forum is nice to me.

Eidos Montreal and Double Fine are great with their fans. Especially Eidos Montreal over Deus Ex Human Revolution, having to deal with all the hate over 3rd person, cutscenes, auto-executions, art style, UI, difficulty. Imagine a forum full of Derrick01's.

They changed something (I forget what, UI?) to cater to fans and answered loads of questions on the forums in a video series.

I know, but it's gonna be redeemed when Derrick plays the game and realises that it is the greatest game he's ever played in his life. He will then apologise to the whole of GAF for ever doubting the game.

Just to let you know before you put money down on Vegas for that, my instincts have never been that off before.

Made the item glow an option switch which saved the game really. It still had a load of design issues but the game would have been completely ruined with forced glowing.

When I play Blood Money now I sit back and think "the only way this could be better is if it had checkpoints and hints telling me everything".

Ya when I played morrowind the first thing I thought was, "this game is great but I wish it was dumbed down completely, take away the RPG mechanics, quests are way to complicated, and make dungeons a straight path."

Few years later I got skyrim! Perfect

I haven't really thought about this but one of my favorite things in Hitman is shooting someone in the face with my fully upgraded silenced Silverballer and having them do a backflip because of the stupid ragdoll physics. I'm going to assume they've made things a bit more realistic in that respect.

Oh yeah, that was pretty hilarious.

Re-opening old wounds :(

Why hasn't Messi been banned for obviously promoting his vested (Future PR agency, Eidos community manager, whatever) interest posting this?

It's frustrating watching players just run around aimlessly killing everyone. Guy clearly has no clue what he's doing.

A lot of people play Hitman games this way. They always try to make it out without any trouble but often ends just like the guy on stream.

VERY EARLY "HITMAN ABSOLUTION" UNBOXING

Damn.

I like that quote.

What are you even talking about? I have a perfectly fine job and have no desire to work in pr ect. I just like hitman and wanted to talk about it. Id rather you didn't go calling for my head.

I feel like I'm missing something here.

I have no idea what this is about.

Not many games go for bullet wounds:

I love them, you get to see the consequences of your violence. Loved pumping lead into all the Kane and Lynch characters as they just flinched to dozens of holes on their face XD

They were coming down from the Kane & Lynch high.

K&L2 was awesome (well, aside from gameplay and gamedesign, those were complete shit).
Shanghai was great and they were great as beaten down, pathetic antiheroes.
Also i love the three legged dog idea+homeless man, although ofcourse not in an Hitman game, i hope they keep it for a new IP or maybe K&L3.

LOL, is this a joke post?

No. :P
I think as a game it's shit, but they nailed the atmosphere and "feel" they were going for pretty damn good.
If i were to review it i would give it a 6/10 or even 5/10, but i'd give the presentation a 9/10.

And since his post was specific about concept ideas and style (not gamedesign) i said that K&L2 was awesome (implying: in that regard).

OK, I misread it then. Sorry.

Don't be silly, Derrick can't enjoy games.

lol, nonsense. Derrick has good taste and sticks to his guns. I'd take 1 million Derricks over these Call of Duty teenagers that need to be spoon-fed shit and can't enjoy a game unless you press A for awesome.

Agreed, but would it really hurt for him to be optimistic for once?

It was a small joke. I have no idea what being optimistic has to do with teenagers playing Call of Duty though.
