According to the website that the OP posted, it's about John Dilinger and the detective (?) who was on his case.

Funny, just saw a documentary on Dillinger last night on the History channel.
The ending will suck in this movie!

Trailer should be online soon

please be a joke, please be a joke..

i didnt know marion cotillard was in this as well. awesome.

edit: looks pretty badass imo. cant believe depp hasnt won an oscar yet

Marion has improved her English quite well. Or at least able to emulate it better. That being compared to her oscar speech last year.

Hmm... can't decide if I should wait until I see Watchmen or not. Trailers will probably be different on the IMAX version... guess I'll check this out when I get home then.

Trailers aren't different in IMAX.

that didn't really do much for me, and i'm a pretty big mann fan.

eh, hopefully it's just the trailer.

That trailer seems to spoil an awful lot of the story. And it's so obvious it's filmed digitally. I hate that look. Otherwise, looks good.

Um how can you spoil actual historical content? OMG I HAD NO IDEA THE TITANIC SANK IN THE END!

Looks like I just watched the whole plot in that trailer. Concept seems nice, but this looks like it will come off as "mobsters in the year 2000". Needs more nu-metal in the soundtrack.

Not really, what's apparently one of the best moments in the film was barely even hinted at in the trailer. Dillinger's life was pretty crazy...

Looks awful. Maybe it's the music or the films clarity but I don't feel like I'm being sucked into the era, it comes off as Christian bale and Johnny Depp do Halloween :/

Exactly. The casting sucks balls. Thats not John Dillinger, thats Johnny Depp in a swank suit. I dont buy it for a second.

Whereas Depp can dissolve completely into characters like Jack Sparrow or Raoul Duke, he sticks out here.

This being a period piece and Mann using that type of digital camcordor again giving it more 'video' like appearance....doesn't really look right to me, it's almost looks like that 120hz interpolation mode on HDtvs being turned on.

I don't know anything about Dillinger, Depp seemed cool as fuck, that's all I need to know.

Wasn't crazy about the song choice but thought the overall trailer looked great.

I'm thinkin' Depp will suprise people here and it won't just be a "it's just him in a nice suit" performance. Outside of Secret Window, dude seems to be pretty picky about what he'll appear in...

I actually thought it looked fine being digitally shot. Makes it stand out more and also, like Miami Vice/Collateral, builds a better sense of being in the actual scene, which I love.
I would have been indifferent if it was just another "classically shot/looking" period film ...we have plenty of those

Looks cool, though it's weird seeing a period piece that was shot digitally.
That's what struck me most about the trailer. It just doesn't feel right. It's like this uneasy collision of modern digital photography and classic Holllywood "period" drama staging. Movie does look cool, though. The esthetic just feels off.

It's not a particularly well edited trailer, but I have faith in Mann.

All right, after Miami Vice I have some faith in Mann. :P There seems to be a plot in this film though, unlike that trainwreck.
