It should at least for now bring to Earth those people who think the Madden game will look same or better than that CGI commercial
It says also that Tiburon poeple believe the final game will look even better. Which it might in some ways. On the other hand, I kinda doubt that they can pull of this flawless kind of antialiasing in 720p for example. I am also a bit sceptical of comments coming from EA saying this & that will look better than the promo CGI. I've heard the same talk in an interview with NFSU devs when the first game came out, and let's not fool ourselves, the NFSU wasn't that great looking compared to other games, much less any kind of FMV.

i guess we'll just have to see for ourselves tomorrow. That said im beyond hyped and i could care less what other people are crying about. this game will sell the systems out if it looks anything like the pics

the first one was a concept from like 6 months ago. but the rest are doable i think, though the first one is a stretch
WTF is the difference really? They all look the same? Even the pic with Strahan sacking McNabb looks the same. It's just got motion-blur and grass in the frame. The models look the same, especially the heads. This is the friggin' next gen. Of course it's gonna look awesome. I don't see why EA would need to post renders when there is absolutely no competition in this market anymore. Madden is it. It will sell a half a gajillion copies on the 360 alone. Can we stop questioning each new release already? PEACE.

The first shot with two guys looks better. Just compare the quality of lighting, look at the temporal motion blur, the shading of the skin. Those things would become only more obvious in motion. I'm not saying there's no possibility it can be done on next gen hardware, but it looks better than shots that followed.

that first shot was on here moths ago, i definatly think it was a render of some sort, thes new ones are pretty believable

?! what is going on? AM I IN THE MATRIX? So we're still being fed renders? This shot is okay but the rim lighting around the coache's face to the right so it is clear is not indicative of any soft of realtime lighting
and can the snow already. particles can make anything look more impressive than they are.

Not the same kind
They have depth of field blur which is trivial compared to temporal motion blur in that first shot. There are also obvious misses in lighting quality compared to the lighting model used in that first shot. Pointless to argue anyways, EA people confirmed long time ago the first shot was just a CGI pre-render.

Why do you guys think EA would show these pics if the actual game couldn't look like that? It would be really bad press for them later if they release actual pics of the game, say at E3 and it looks worse. I believe they are not far enough into the development process to show actual gameplay screen. They probably have the core game running but with graphical glitches here and there, slow down problems, crashes, etc. The game will probably be game of show at E3 if it shows its real face. Let remember, EA is trying to build up hype, they will not do anything stupid to miss it up.

And to keep this on topic...I'll reiterate that we saw this in the early DC US ads on TV, where CG was used, using approximate game models to represent the characters. There is a big difference between that situation and this one, and that is that the lighting done in CG can mostly be done on current hardware, where the DC couldn't.
Another issue I want to bring up is that is there any indication that this Saturday they'll be showing real time footage of the game? I'm sure E3 will have it...but this Saturday could be a whole other issue.
Plus, I do wonder if this title will be shown at the MTV unveiling. It would be what I consider a killer app...but is EA ready to show the game before E3?
And mainstream gamers buy game like The Matrix.

I think it's that most people don't expect PS3 to be released here before summer 2006 (march/april in Japan, summer in US), and by then it would be too late for Madden 2006, I guess? I thought that was the reason PSP didn't get the madden game at launch at least. Madden obviously won't make much sense at the Japanese launch either.

And? It's a PS3 hub, title's correct.
There should be the very same article with a different title in the 360 hub.

Well they don't have the 360 hub yet it seems. I tried 360/ xbox360/ xbox2/ xenon and nothing worked.
But Madden 06 is not coming out for the PS3. At all.
Gamespot surely is aware of that, as is anyone following videogames... The implication is that it's almost as if Gamespot is trying to misdirect the hype that will be generated by Saturday's commercial into the PS3 camp.
