That’s He-Man’s power sword all right. Such an iconic, yet stupid design. I’m glad they didn’t change it.
I love the Dolph Lundgren movie and all of its 80’s trappings. It was an awful He-Man movie but a great schlockfest.

It's actually a New Gods movie.
John Byrne says so: “The best New Gods movie, IMHO, is Masters of the Universe. I even corresponded with the director, who told me this was his intent, and that he had tried to get Kirby to do the production designs, but the studio nixed it. Check it out. It requires some bending and an occasional sex change (Metron becomes an ugly dwarf, The Highfather becomes the Sorceress), but it’s an amazingly close analog, otherwise. And Frank Langella’s Skeletor is a dandy Darkseid!”

Huh, I wonder if he will transform into a CG/latex muscle suit guy or that's all we are gonna get. Be cool if they film him "now" then put him on a 6 month kidney destroying protein/drug regimen and bulk him up. Probably best to use a muscle suit (those are SO good these days) or even a body double if He-man transformed is a limited thing in this film. I guess if they go really old school he was 'just' He-man all the time but that's not likely here.
They got some hotties for the cast though, very much looking forward to Alison Brie, Morena Baccarin, and Camile Mendez in tight latex, all buffed up.
Hmm, it occurs to me that these chicks all look very similar. Teela better have red hair (and not that damned butch style from the netflix cartoon).
This film needs to be like Snyder's 300. Just protein shakes and gym equipment EVERYWHERE. Baby oil on every table, nothing but pull-up bars and kettlebells

I’m actually surprised it’s Nicholas Galitzine. He is mostly known for romance and drama titles, of which I have seen ‘The Idea of you’ with him and Anne Hathaway.
Hopefully he will do a decent job in what appears to be action/adventure and…comedy?

I'm just impressed that Jared Leto underwent an experimental surgery so he can live as an *actual* skeleton during the filming of this.

Evidentially it's supposed to him being an Eternian stranded and raised on Earth, then going back to Eternia to defeat Skeletor. Lame to involve Earth at all I'm going to wager a guess it's another one of those flicks aping the tone of GotG.

Your description sounds more like another version of this movie rather than GoTG:
It's a shame Sony was the one who made it. Their ideas for quite a few of their recent movies are still stuck in the early 2000s, all the way down to the blue filter and other filming techniques.

Not again. You gotta have it on Eternia then reveal that certain characters such as the queen came from Earth as a twist for those that don't know.
