Drinky Crow said:I actually feel the PSP analog nub is better suited to "mousing" PC-style games than it is to driving/platforming content. In fact, I'd take it over the stylus, which requires an uncomfortable hand position and a stylus that obscures part of the contact point.
For games, definately. But for webbrowsing I'd prefer a stylus - not that any kind of webbrowsing on small screen like that is particularly comfortable. In fact, I'd take it over the stylus, which requires an uncomfortable hand position and a stylus that obscures part of the contact point.
No, he hasn't done anything. He hasn't modified any PSP software at all.The other point is that PSP is very hackable. Which is great -- so quit bitching.

The Wipeout download section is simply a web-browser. That browser, by default, is set to contact ingame.scea.com and request a certain directory (i.e. /wipeout/). All this person has done, and I have done, is to change the name servers in the network settings section on the psp to point to a personal DNS server...which then resolves ingame.scea.com to whatever you want.
Simple -- and not proof the PSP is hackable at all.
Didn't mean to sound rude.Okay, okay. You rule. My bad.

Just don't want people jumping to conclusions and nine topics springing up with names like:
"PSP HACK CONFIRMED - Emulation When?"
"First PSP Hack Published - UMD --> Memstick When?"
"PSP H4X0R3D (SONY AM CRY!!)"
![]()
It's a hack in the sense that it's doing something it wasn't originally meant to do, but not in the sense that it's opened the door to homebrewing. i'm siding with fugimax on this one.Stinkles said:The Fuckin Dictionary

Ya, I'm browsing GAF right now with it (note, not posting from it...just navigating). I can see why, if this is the current state of Sony's psp browser implementation, it isn't accessible for use yet. It's very *very* slow -- it took like 4 minutes to completely render GAF's gaming discussion topic list.Did you get around to browsing sites via the WOP browser?
Drinky Crow said:Why would I care if the PSP has (unproven) sluggish sales? The thing *is* $250 bucks and doesn't look particularly durable. I understand consumer trepidation regarding it, if that is infact the case. Doesn't mean the thing won't sell gangbusters in the long run, but three day after launch, how the fuck do you expect me to tell one way or the other?
My point in that thread is not that the PSP rocks -- which it does. It's that the DS is a huge fucking joke, and I feel a sort of heart-wounding pity for anyone that convinces themselves they should blow $150 on a low-res PSOne with very little in the way of decent games.
Enigma said:Unproven? Even the craptacular DS had higher markups. When PSP are selling for below retail on Ebay, you know the demand is bad.

you mean even 3 months after DS' launch PSP still has better supply than DS on PSP's launch day ? ...DarienA said:*cough* supply *cough*
