Alinea Analytics: Helldivers 2 on xbox outsells PS5 within first 6 days of launch

Seems they only exist to provide controversial information to drive clicks.

Its their only release.
Yes, that's not what I was talking about at all.

HD2 might've been a massive hit, it was 'just' a B-tier grade game from the PS catalogue.

Apart from Forza, Xbox output is mediocre at best.
That's what I was referring to, same as when I talk about the lower bar on Xbox.

I was just messing mate.

I don't think much of Forza btw, it plays well but the structure is rubbish. There no sense of progression and it feels like doesn't matter if you come first or last in the races. But that's another topic.

A game that is now well known sells better in 6 days than it did when it unknown? Color me shocked.

Didn't you all say Xboner is dead and it sold 1/5 as many consoles? Pretty good since it had to rise from the dead and be at a 5:1 deficit. God, ya'll can never give props where they are deserved lmao

Top 1 and top 3. The Xbox ranking consider the sales of the last 7 days, so now just a week after launch it gets a more fair comparision vs the older than a week games

Two SKU's of the same game in the top 3.

Combined, I don't doubt it's probably sold a pretty good number since launch already. Will be worth seeing how long it can keep that momentum. I reckon it's gonna get dethroned next week by Hollow Knight and then Borderlands the week after.

Yeah I seriously doubt that especially with this source but I have no doubt it is doing very well on Xbox. Its one of the best multiplayer games this gen honestly nothing quite like it and ironically enough fills the halo itch better than the current halo.

You just wake up from a coma? Cause you seem to be fresh off some A-tier new releases from Playstation. This isn't the PS4 gen anymore....wait actually it is, PS4 Pro 2 gen. Carry on. Xbox didn't make up 6/10 of Playstation's best selling games recently or anything.

Xbox gamers aren't drowing in Game Pass games this year either. They sure are starved and this news is a nothing burger.

Gotta think we'll be seeing more ports from both Xbox and PS.

Poor green rats believing this news, lol.

You going thru with this again? Has nothing to do with the fake million sales which you agreed is fake by Alinea.

Denying Helldivers Xbox news doesn't seem to go in your favor, just a cautious warning :messenger_peace:

RE: HD2's sales on Xbox, its two SKU's both are selling higher than Madden. Even if it doesn't match Alenia's numbers, it's still going great.

Herman must be happy 🤝

For those who give so much importance on sales number, wait for Circana. But if this is true, it proves that gamepass killed allot of potential sales for MS Xbox games in the past especially of there own 1st and 3nd party.

Madden has physical. It's not going to beat Madden in Circana for August.

Quality and production-value are different from the concept of success/flop.

Helldivers 2 was not a major IP and Sony's A-game.
It was a minor game that happened to hit the jackpot, hence why they were scrambling for server-capacity when it popped off unexpectedly.

their B-Tier games are the good ones... the "A-Tier" AAA games they make are mostly trash.

so, more b-tier plz :) and less Horizon Zero Quality
Subjective. Besides, those good B-tier games sell maybe half of a 'trash' A-tier game like Horizon.
Helldivers 2 really is an exception in that regard.

And as fun as Helldivers 2 is, there is much more content and variation within said content in Horizon than Helldivers 2.

Anyway, the point was that the bar on Xbox is lower, so HD2 was going to sell well regardless.

But it doesn't have a single player campaign or pvp game modes, correct? Vehicular combat? How can it scratch a halo itch? You just talking about the firefight gamemode? Genuinely interested, as I've held off on purchasing but this could sway me.

Poor green rats believing this news, lol.
Oh look, it does post. And its comments are every bit as console war-ry as its emojis would have you guess.

Nice to see it's doing well. Idk if the title is true or not. I'll buy it on Xbox sometime when it's on sale so I own it on all three platforms.

Your joke is true though.

And Helldivers 2 is a B-tier Playstation release.

Maybe in past gens Helldivers 2 would have been a B tier PlayStation release. Sure as fuck isn't this gen, this gen it's an S tier release.

I meant in terms of multiplayer and the general feel, halo for me was epic sandboxes with freedom to cause mayhem with alot of physics based variables to have crazy random epic things happen. Some of the best memories of halo i have is of halo3 scarab mission, where there is a large sandbox with hectic shit happening and me and my bud were splitscreening that shit. Helldivers captures that feel incredibly well even if there is no single player campaign. Also it has this ability to pull off some truly cinematic epic moments and last stands.

That being said dont get me wrong bungies halo campaigns were legendary and you cant discount them at all. Halo reach is one of my all time favourites, when the "survive" objective came up on the last mission my jaw dropped. Its just that infinite was so dissapointing for me that compared to that even without single player this somehow managed to give me that sweet feel from back then better.

Of course not, Madden is on more platforms. But the Xbox only charts will be an interesting look, if HD2 being digital only can beat Madden there.
I'm not talking about "platforms". I'm talking about Madden on xbox will beat Helldivers 2 on xbox.

1 month ban bet?

In terms of sales and quality it's an S tier release because there has mostly been fuck all else. In past gens you'd have been correct. In the worst PlayStation gen, you aren't 🤷‍♂️
It's B-tier quality, dude.

At launch it was almost non-stop bitching about the 'mediocre' graphics and limited content, because you did nothing but run like 3 different variants of missions over and over and over and over.

That's why there has been such a big drop-off in player-retention.

That's not a diss, btw.

See ?
Sony had to step up to save Xbox. Microsoft couldn't even do that with their own product.

Also. This is a non news. Full fledged tons of updates hyped game with new DLC vs launch week sleeper hit? status comparison.

Just to demonstrate how bullshit those numbers are, here's what our Alinea Analytics had to say about MGS Delta:

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater debuted on August 26 and sold 281 K during the month on PS5. It's now sold 500 K cross-platform units across Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation.

Konami has just announced a milion copies sold. Those guys are selling copium for fanboys.

I don't believe the source that this information is coming from.
It's not great source and everyone should doubt its authenticity, however it's safe to say that Hell Divers 2 is doing a pretty good on Xbox. Arrowhead made a great game.
Poor green rats believing this news, lol.
Ah man, just drop the console war bullshit. The biggest "green rat" here adamsapple adamsapple is even calling it sus because it's from an unreliable source.

Nice job, Mr. Spencer.

Wait, wasn't Zero Dawn already remastered? Unless they're doing a remake.
Herman and co. are doing a re-remaster of HZD 1. Hermen also(probably) told PlayStation studios to start re-remaster Last of Us 1 and 2 also. Heard there's already a remaster of Ghost Of Yotei in the works

While I think this source isn't one most would put much stock in, and being top charting in the summer isn't as good as being best-selling at Christmas, I think it's pretty clear there are a decent number of Xbox players who've picked this up.

Sony likely already had an idea of what their games could sell on other platforms before they did this port, but now they've got hard numbers. I don't think I've seen any bitter Sony fans crying about this so I don't think it's likely that Sony will find much reason not to just choose to make more money when it comes to the rest of their catalogue.

It remains to be seen, but repackaging TLOU for the millionth time would be a no-brainer here, imo. Especially if Xbox fans will be able to pick up a discount Steam key and use that to play Sony's PC games in the near future.

If I could play sony games on an Xbox. Id never buy another one. Prefer Xbox (for my console platform) for everything. But Sony has better exclusives. Which is ultimately what matters the most.

At the very least, this signals that first party titles (formerly expected to be exclusives) could be less relevant in the future.

I had a PS5 for a while but sold it through lack of use. I think that platform holders might be asking how big a factor exclusives are in deciding a primary console are - when I had both Xbox and PlayStation the playstation was for exclusives only and I played everything else on Xbox.

I suspect that the number of people who evenly spread their purchases across two platforms is quite small and I also think at this stage the people who favour playstation today will probably choose it again next time, even if the first party games were no longer exclusives.

I really think there's a good chance that going third party for Sony would just mean more money.

One thing that I think would be interesting if we do end up in a post exclusives world, will be when the next consoles launch. Would either platform hold one or two titles back to try and make their platform more appealing? Or to put it another way, have a launch which is the same as every other one so far.
