I fell asleep twice.

I knew it. If it's good, it must've been because of Wright! No way that Peyton Reed did it.
Well, to be fair, Wright has a certain style that's instantly recognizable. So saying 'this feels like a Wright movie' actually has some merit. For instance, that scene with the Thomas train in the trailer felt like something Wright would do (and it's probably one of the things from the old script that they kept around).

I just came to the sad realisation that the only Marvel Studio films I've missed in cinemas have been Iron Man 2 and The Incredible Hulk.

You saved yourself some money there. Not worth the 10 quid to go to see in the cinema, if you ask me.
They're not rubbish, but if you can see them on DVD or Netflix or something, do that instead.

All sounds good so far. Considering the rock bottom expectations I think most people had, the general consensus so far being "positive" is a good sign.

Also I liked Ultron and think its in some parts a better movie than Avengers 1. Better highs, lower lows but also not really "as memorable" as the first one in terms of iconic moments and such, which let's face it, it was never going to beat.

While others say it's not bad as it is forgettable, I think it's just bad:

- Doesn't even try to be a film that glues Phase 2 together
- Invalidates every film to come before it
- Some films have plot holes, but this film has PLOT HOLES that are not even explained at all beyond "this needs to happen"
- Characters are just in this film because it's an Avengers film

My biggest issue with the film is that they turned Ultron from a serious villain into a joke with a really strange personality. He wasn't menacing or interesting at all and why would a cold robot be trying to crack jokes every few minutes? Also before some people say well he's based on Starks personality not really because
Stark found the Ultron A.I. in the Hydra lab so it was already created (and they never explained where it came from) and then it merged with Jarvis who's personality is nothing like Stark's

Probably won't see it in the theatre just because of the whole Wright thing but glad is good then. I'll catch it on Netflix or something.

Paul Rudd is bland.
Still, he's the reason I'm going on opening night. He fits the part and looks like what I pictured Ant Man to look like.
Paul Rudd.
PaulRudd.

Impressions from official screenings like this are indeed always positive. For there to be one bad review here is actually way outside the norm.

I was hoping for some of this. It really says how bad the advertising is though, they REALLY should have played this up more as heist movie in the trailers.

Marketing-wise and "MCU-wise" this movie is in a really awkward place. I hope it's fun, although I'm not sure if I'll be watching it at the cinema.

These Ocean's 11 comparisons have got me hype as fuck. I'm in day one.

edit:
"Ant Man is great. Way better than Age of Ultron. @edgarwright deserves co-director credit. Feels like his movie"

If this has an Edgar Wright feel to it oh godddddddddddd

Who thought this movie was going to be a disaster? I've been hyped for it for a while, especially since the Ant-Man book has been coming out by Nick Spencer, yo read that shit.

Paul Rudd being in this means that we'll get to see him go on Conan and show that terrible clip of Mac and Me like he always does.

What's up with MarvelGAFs obsession with crows? There is nothing wrong with having expectations that might differ from the final product.
