Flipnic - PS2 - Flipnic for the PS2 - you may have played a traditional pinball machine before but this super Flipnic game brings you massive and wonderfully creative tables with different ways to progress. Play the game out from jungles to outer space, feel the pinball, the tension and the excitement. Flipnic is based on the traditional pinball game but brings a different way of progression. Featuring unusual environmental effects. All the stages have abstract designs, the ball rolls in a space wrapped around 360 degrees and a giant, impending pipe awaits the player. Two players can play four mini games (such as pinball soccer or pinball basketball) in special stages making this a superb game!!

So what's Flipnic?

..and it kind of sucked a bit.

It's a weird and cool looking pinball game made by SCEI.

If they can bring over that uber-packaging that the Japanese version had, it would be great.

Awesome!! Yet another one of the best PS2 games hits the US for $20. We're so spoiled these days.

For those who want an apt description of the game, look no further than the cover.

"FLIPNIC" Developed by AzN PrYde Studios

I kid..

Pinball is amazing. I was hooked on Lord of the Rings pinball last winter. Very slick machine

Holy shit, so this game's good? It's been sitting in Target's bargain bin for like half a year here. Every time I go in there I sorta pick it up and wonder if I should just buy the bloody thing.

My luck, it'll be gone now.

It's no Devil's Crush, but it may be worth a try. The game is sometimes slow, with all those long ramps that take you to an other table, and sometimes annoying, with repeating cut scenes. The 2 player modes seemed to be pretty interesting, but I never tried them when I still had the game...

Here's a pretty good review:

Flipnic is an amazing pinball game. Even though I have the import, I'd gladly pay another $20 for the U.S. release of this flip-fuckin-tastic game.

I just watched the video, and I'm totally anticipating this game now.

It's funny how Sony has some really wild stuff coming out of their Japanese and European divisions, that the North American branch just doesn't pick up for publishing for some strange reason. This game looks like it could be a slam dunk, and easily marketable towards all ages.

Where do you live?

It's a lurker in euro bargain bins, I might have to pick it up if only for this sort of nonsense.

It was only AUS$50 to start with, so you have no excuse!

I think there is a demo of this on the current OPM demo disc... looks like I'll be trying this out tonight!

Yep, it's on the current disc. I've played it a few times and was surprised at how fun it is. It definitely seems worth a purchase, especially with the price being $20 bucks. :)

Even though a buddy of mine says that Capcom is gonna make sure that there's pleny of copies to go around, I ain't taking my chances, so I pre-ordered mine through EGgames.com. Hopefully it'll take less than two weeks for it arrive like how I pre-ordered Gradius V (and which they didn't even have the pre-order DVD bonus handy, though that wasn't entirely their fault).

None of the stores in my area has the game yet. They all seem to have it on order though, so I'm hoping they get it in either tomorrow or Friday.
