And where in Florida was this? Would you care to name these people in high positions who were discriminating against you?Zapages said:Unfortunately, there was a lot of these type of people down there, at least where I was staying at the time. Also some of them are really high positions in academia, which sucked for me. Regardless, let's just say that I am happy that I am healthy and alive today by able to survive FL.

That will not and should not happen. Muslim consider both bible and Torah sacred too. I have all of them in my home.
Op you forgot G,A,F? mame
Must have been a really really small school. Most academic institutions, even smaller less prestigious ones, are usually liberal bastions of diversity. Small, private, denominational schools would be the only ones that would immediately come to mind as having a systemic problem. This incident itself is happening in the small town of Gainesville. The metro area has a population of about a quarter mil, with half of that being students of the U of F. The people that actually live in some of these small, backwoods, places and the people attending and working at a school are usually not the same.Zapages said:I don't know if I should name and elaborate more on the events as the school has yet to give me any compensation of the whole ordeal. It was an hour south of Tampa and one of the person was Dean of the school that I was attending. :\

It just seems strange that something like this would happen in a scholastic setting. I'm not questioning the veracity of your story, though. It's just your reluctance to explain makes me... errr... question the veracity of your story.

I mean, we get caught up in this "we're all the same, human brotherhood" shit, but no. It really is way different.paranoidfortean said:It really is different in the south.
No kidding. Every single person from Florida I have spoken to, just absolutely despises the place and wants nothing more than to leave for good. :lolHex said:And people wonder why I am so eager to leave this state

Aren't the terrorists' motivation purely economical reasons plus oppression?
crazy monkey said:That will not and should not happen. Muslim consider both bible and Torah sacred too. I have all of them in my home.
Kinitari said:Jigga what? Terrorist may have multiple sources of motivation, but they are not purely motivated by oppression and economical reasons. Don't be ridiculous.

So... What are the other reasons besides oppression, economical, and religious ones?
Kinitari said:WHAT?! Can I have one that says something about my oversized manhood? I want all the internet ladies to be impressed by my posts, and I can't think of any other way.
Kinitari said:Oppression, Religion and economy are probably the biggest reasons I can think of - there are probably the scenarios where some do it out of a weird sense of nationalism, or misplaced blame for their poverty, but I can't think of many other reasons.
I don't see anyone suggesting that they shouldn't have the right to do this. Unless the Quran is full of dangerous chemicals, this is clearly protected under the first amendment.shadowsdarknes said:Wow that's fucking stupid.
But yes, Gaf was quick to politicize this and criticize the right. What else is new from this board?
