lol @ Floyd ducking Khan in 2015.

Floyd might have done some cherry picking throughout his career, but so have most other top draws to an extent. I gave him props for taking on unbeaten Canelo in his physical prime.

People love glossing over that Canelo bout in their rush to shit on him for "ducking" fighters.

Also, gotta love the "bu-bu-but if Floyd fought <your boxer here> in their prime..." as if the fact is, eras were rarely aligned in any sport.

He's the Kanye of boxing. Or Kanye is the Mayweather of hip hop. Either way.

Successful in their fields. Technical masters. Impossible to respect, admire or look up to. These people shouldn't matter or be influential. There are so many others who should.

Kanye is certainly worthy of respect, you don't know what this dude does for young artist and producers in hip hop.

Why are people wanting him to just stand there and take punches? Then we would be saying,"damn sucks he took so many blows to the head" he's preventing that by being defensively minded, good for him. I watch Mayweather fights to see his technical ability and how he just makes the ring his against any fighter.

Cool story about a guy who beats up women.

The problem with this kind of attitude is it's really easy to make a hypocrite out of yourself here.

Like, do you enjoy and can you appreciate the skill or merit behind the works of any of these people? Michael Jackson, Elvis Pressley, John Lennon, JD Salinger, Norman Mailer, Chuck Berry, Charlie Chaplin, Tupac Shakur, Lawrence Taylor, Bill Cosby, Sonny Liston, etc.

I feel like I can separate the failings of the man and their artistry. I can enjoy Thriller and acknowledge that MJ was a pedophile with a fetish for gore porn. I can appreciate Floyd's prodigious skill as a boxer while thinking the man himself is a petty thug. It'd be pretty sad if I couldn't because there's a lot of worthwhile art in this world made by utter shithead people.

The GOAT.

The Marquez performance will always mean the most to me, given that he was a technical master and hall of famer in his own right, and yet Floyd was still able outclass him.

lest we forgot Floyd was coming off of a 2 year lay off. dude comes back and outclasses JMM in his first fight

Floyd is a piece of shit as a person, but really once you start taking that level of moral high ground you might as well not follow any form of popular entertainment. Phil Spector had a hand in some of the best records ever made, should I feel ashamed of thinking Sgt. Pepper's is a great work of pop music?

you gotta separate the art from the artist

Why do people feel the need to get on a moral high horse in a thread discussing the act of boxing?

Yeah... Had Floyd never fought Canelo, people would swear by now that he was scared and that Canelo would've beaten him.

Well, he fought Canelo, and it was one of his easiest wins.
