The Chelsea boss spoke after Benitez's wife joked her husband was "tidying up" another Mourinho "mess" at Real.

"The lady is a bit confused," Mourinho, 52, said after Chelsea's International Champions Cup win over Barcelona. "Her husband went to Chelsea to replace Roberto Di Matteo and he went to Real Madrid and replaced Carlo Ancelotti. The only club where her husband replaced me was at Inter Milan, where in six months he destroyed the best team in Europe at the time. If she takes care of her husband's diet, she will not have any time to talk about me."

Benzema job is not to score, benzema job is to linkup the attack and midfield while creating flow since nobody else fucking does it properly. Especially in regards to cr7 and bale who does sod all in build up and transition. It is good to see some who appreciate one of many aspects Benz delivers to team. Benzema is world class in everything he does.

Also, I dont know if anyone of y'all remember but some years ago, i said benzema was going to announce that he was going to leave madrid due to a bust up with mourinho. Ultimately though due to the timing of cr7's "i am sad" moment, benz cut those plans short as to not trouble madrid further than it has to deal with. Benzema truly is a kind man.

I got that info straight of out of djaziri's mouth in private thanks to help from a friend who was well acquainted with french football agents. Djaziri was my source all those years ago. Which was why I was flipping out back then and adamant as he was and still is Karim Benzema's official agent whom I've had the honor of meeting in person.

TL:DR if you dont see me posting here in capslock flipping out like crazy begging florentino to force benz stay or dont sell like last time, ignore any benz rumour. Because if benz actually had a chance of leaving i would be very dramatic about it here. I prefer benz to stay in madrid as madrid should have the best and benz is the best
Ok

Yeah, real funny. Taking the piss out of someone's weight is real classy. Mourinho once again showing he's a horrible person.

Cant say I was too impressed at Jose's comments, seems unnecessary. He knows like the world does that Rafa is going to last 6 months at Real, let him and his wife say what they want.

Proof is in the pudding with how Rafa wrecked a CL winning team (Inter) and tried to retire JT, which is making him look worse and worse everyday.

Rafa is a joke hire for Madrid but you can't pin what happened to Inter on him. He took over a very expensive, aging squad and wasn't given any money to renovate it. Not being able to finish top 3 with that Napoli side though...

Rafa was hardly the only one who thought Terry was on a downward slope and needed resting for certain games at least. And he did a perfectly fine job for Chelsea under ridiculous circumstances, loathe as you knobends are to admit it.

The Inter thing is weird as well. He did an awful job there undoubtedly, but not one player from that treble winning team has come anywhere close to replicating that form since Mourinho left, under Rafa or anyone. It was like Mourinho somehow managed too eek out the last year of their primes, and they all nosedived as soon as they won the CL.

No excuses for what happened at Napoli though, especially last season.

Atlético Madrid manager:

Real Madrid manager:

Rafa%20Benitez

Atlético manager is athletic (har har har), maximizes the most out of least talent from his teams, operates on a far smaller budget than his competitors, his teams are characterized by intense defensive discipline, tremendous work-rate, physicality. Loses top players every year but still manages to stay relevant. His teams are much like himself when he was a player.

Real Madrid manager wears training jackets to hide his gut, is tactically outdated, has won less trophies as the years pass, has failed at multiple big clubs with high spending power as the years pass, failed upwards because of his birth place, and glory from a decade past.

Mou is 100% right. Real Madrid in 4th place is going to be absolutely sensational.

In Mourinho defense what Benitez wife said about the subject is completely ludicrous and absurd. And it was her who brought him to the conversation. She was also classless as fuck. And quite idiotic.

'Yeah, well, her husband is fat'

Do you not see how childish that is as a response?

@bone_sinew, how on earth is Simeone's health and fitness relevant to anything?

It is. But he also said

“The lady is a bit confused, with all respect. I’m not laughing. Because her husband went to Chelsea to replace Roberto Di Matteo and he went to Real Madrid and replaced Carlo Ancelotti. The only club where her husband replaces me was at Inter Milan, where in six months he destroyed the best team in Europe at the time.

Also what's her defense for the idiotic remarks ? Did Benitez asked her to do it ? That would be way lower than anything Mourinho could do.

Or because Mourinho is a prick he can be insulted by anyone ?

You're really taking the fat joke personally, it's just banter. I get it, you'll defend Rafa no matter what cause he won you a CL 10 years ago. The fact of the matter is that Rafa's career is trending downward as his failures at big clubs keep accumulating. Now he's got the biggest stage to fail on.

You insult professionally, not personally. Rafas weight has nothing to do with his ineptitude and so shouldn't be brought up, just like many other things that wouldn't have been acceptable.

"I have won many things, he has won fuck all, Maybe if he had won some more things his wife wouldn't be the one you go talking to about football"

But Mourinho did insult him professionally, be said Rafa blew it at Chelsea and Inter. The fat joke was just the punchline.

Her defense is that it was quite obviously a joke made in a light-hearted interview, from what I can tell.

Oh dear.

And I'm well aware that he's not a particularly good manager these days. We'll see how it goes at Madrid, don't expect him to last 6 months though even if they're like 4 points behind in February and still in the cups.

Cosmic, you should check out that QPR game.

They're playing Sheffield Wednesday which, hey, is my team! If you're after good British atmosphere then it's a good match to pick. We're one of the best supported away sides in the division *smug* so the away end will be full and noisy. That's always important for atmosphere in the UK. Loftus Road is a small and tightly packed ground as well. A proper old fashioned ground.

It should be a good match as well. Both sides will hope to be towards the top of the table by October and both will look to play decent stuff.

Forget the Premiership, The Championship is great. In terms of atmosphere and standard of football it'll be way ahead of anything you've seen in the MLS.

Wow, you make it sound really cool. Alright, guess I will go to see those merc QPR twits (am I doing this right?)

Thanks!

operates on a far smaller budget than his competitors,

This is such a crazy myth people keep spreading. Atleti's budget is far ahead of anyone in Spain, aside from Barca and Madrid, and the difference between them and the top 2 isn't as big as you think. Atletico is a big club that has been a huge failure results wise until very recently (Simeone).

Their top management/owners would actually make Florentino look good. They've managed to accumulate more debt in the past 15 years than Madrid or Barcelona, but with almost no results to show for it.

If you wanna praise teams that really do have small budgets and still get incredible results, I would recommend you look at Sevilla or Villareal.

Yep, Mourinho definitely overstepped the mark in this case.

Apparently we've had our second bid of £26 million pounds for Stones rejected with a third bid soon to follow. We're going to have to pay ~£34 million.

This is Karma for Mourinho being a puerile knob isnt it ;)

Honestly, I'd just tap Stones up and give him another season at Everton :p

Sincerely i think it was a joke on the fact that Real Madrid required Rafa to lose weight for image purposes... and sincerely her wife should stop talking shit about other coaches and concentrate on talking about his husband.

They could buy Otamendi for that price and he's 10 times better.

The mindset is that Stones could be their "Terry" for the next 10-15 years -- every club wants at least 1 or 2 major English players in the league so it makes sense. Chelsea had fewer HG players than Man City last year but this is never brought up by the general press because they have Terry and Cahill playing together. I'm just bummed about it because it'll make Stones next to useless in fantasy and he's got a great price right now.

34m for Stones is silly.

Mourinho using fat jokes is even sillier. That point about Inter had more than enough ether.

Is it true that Real wanted Rafa to lose weight for photos though? Not that it validates Mou at all, but that'd be a pretty shit thing for a club to require. Let the players provide the manservice if it's that important.

English premium has never been larger. If his name was Jose Piedras and played at Sociedad, Chelsea could get him for like 1/3 of whats being talked about.

The English tax is even more clear when you look at how much they paid for Zouma. Everyone and their brother has been touting him as a futures superstar for years and they got him for pennies on the dollar in comparison to Stones' potential price.

They couldn't have that been that bad when they won the CL just before.

He did a perfectly fine job with us, I don't think I've ever denied it, he won a trophy with us which I don't begrudge him his name in history because it wasn't an easy ride for him but I find it difficult to agree JT was on such a downward slope that 2 years later he was capable of playing every second of the league and he couldn't do that previously. He played plenty of CL games iirc, league cup (barely in the FA Cup so i'll omit it) and there wasn't anything we've seen that held him back.

He put him in semi-retirement when he was capable of much more and it could have ended his career with us, thankfully Jose came back and realised how capable he was. I don't see Jose doing much in the way of conditioning for him, he had also retired from international football at this time too so thats not a factor either and we have the same medical team I think.

It's both an English tax and a Premier League tax; because PL clubs are so rich, they don't have to sell. Punting on players from Ligue 1 or Belgium or any of the non-CL Liga clubs is way cheaper than buying even mediocre players from within the Premier League.

Hadn't uncharacteristic errors started to creep in for Terry around that time? Not massive ones, but ones that are indicative of a player who's just getting a bit old. iirc he looked like a player who would need replacing in the first 11 imminently, regardless of physical capabilities.

Nice header by Klaassen after a great cross by Milik, 0-2.

Footy GAF where is your 3rd round CL playoffs hype?
lol

Edit: wow I just saw the most disgraceful tackle I've seen in a long time.
