In my experience with doing it on the Xbox Live referral they gave them to me after 10 days or so, cancel/turn off auto-renew before the month is out (easy to do) and you still get your voucher.

Yes. It's a free trial, they won't charge until the trial period is over. Which would be 30 days. Either cancel on the website before it's over or cancel after you get the voucher.

Yeh you do need to enter payment details but you can turn off auto-renew in the settings straight away last time I did it.
