The real life Mark Schultz had a meltdown on Twitter a couple of weeks ago, saying that Bennett Miller was a piece of scum, that he hated the movie and that he would reveal the true story after the awards season as he was contractually forced to do promotion for the movie until then. That might have had an effect on Foxcatcher´s chances of a nomination for Best Picture.
