Yup. He scored against Villa, then got an assist against Newcastle, then the stupid Spurs match happened when no one could score at all, then he scored against Stoke, then he was dropped completely last time against Southampton, then this match.
Probably should've had 2, even 3 more goals from that run, but it's the first stretch of games where he gets any continuity, does as good as the rest of the team is doing (which means just barely getting results) and then he is dropped and LVG comes out and say he must "prove" himself to be in the starting 11. Before that he was only coming on 20 minutes at a time as a sub.
So yea, the focus on him is a bit absurd when most everyone has been falling short of expectations. I agree that Rooney should be moved up top, but hey, new Scholes innit...
