Football Thread 2017/18 |OT2| Fractured but Ox

This would be the first step towards an European Super League. At some point teams would start picking where they wanted to play and would form that Super League.

I don't want it. The Champions League is more than enough.

The only way this Barça to the Premier League should be approved is if they start by playing on the lowest division in England. That would be fucking hilarious.

I’m with you on that I wouldn’t be surprised if teams just invade the prem. Wenger was saying how the league could stretch to 24 team Barca and Celtic as two, then who PSG? Bayern? Everyone wants that prem money.

Bout fucking time someone called Ribery on his bullshit. Dude acts like the GOAT and hasn't been good enough to start for Bayern for 3 fucking years. Other news Uli Hoeness met with Pep in Munich today, and Rummenigge talked to him a few days ago. Relationship seems quite good, I imagine Pep comes back at some point in the future back to Munich. Also the way Uli reports it, the new Bayern coach will be announced very soon, before the next Bundesliga game.
It‘s going to be van gaal, isn‘t it?

If Pep's happy wit the choice since Uli told him, I'm 90% certain that Tuchel's gonna be announced in a few days. When Kalle called him a few days ago, Pep recommended him

Yea, I also think that solidifies Tuchel. Pep would definitely recommend him.

I do so wish they had bought Draxler before the season. Easy to get, and definitely an upgrade over the current wingers on the left.

If Barca, PSG and Celtic join the premier league then everyone would get relegated with Celtic being the first to go down.

Messi would win 2 ballon d'ors in a single year after banging them in for fun in what is supposed to be the "best league in the world".

Kind of want to see Peru get in.

I really want Peru to get in. I mean I'm biased because my family is partly Peruvian, but still, Gareca has them playing some of the most entertaining football out there right now. Plus, they haven't been in the World Cup for a long ass time.

And also my local club has a Peruvian player (Yordy Reyna), so it would be super cool to see him in the World Cup. Vamos Peru!

🤔

With Messi and Barca and PSG added for LULZ and the rest of the league this would truly make the Prem the best league in the world.

What team wouldn’t want a slice of that financial pie?

Stupid. Seriously let's have a player without competing for 4 months because of 14 fucking seconds. If only Adrien was from Qatar...

What's up with Leicester wanting the top 6 sides to get the most PL money? Do they not realise they won't ever be in the top 6 again?

I'm chilean, so I want Chile in the WC, but if that doesn't happen I'm ok with Perú being there. They are playing really nice.

I still think if they are able to resist the pressure during the first 15', they'll beat Argentina.

Infantino being in Argentina a day before the match that can leave Argentina out of the World Cup tells me that FIFA keeps on being the same corrupt piece of shit organization. Too much money would be lost without Messi in Russia 2018.

I agree. Specially considering what happened in the match Argentina vs Chile last year where we got robbed.

One legit goal from Chile that got disallowed. The biggest cunt when it comes to diving (after Robben) Di María well... dives and Argentina got a PK, and finally... Messi insults the linesman which deserves a red card, but nothing happens. A couple of days later they sanction him with 4 matches, but after the first one, they reduce the sanction to only one match, the justification? according to FIFA: "not enough evidence of Messi insulting the linesman". Yeah, sure... that video where any spanish speaker can read his lips saying "a vos te digo, la concha de tu madre" is not enough proof.

FIFA not being corrupt anymore my ass.

I hope everything goes well for Perú, without any of that bullshit we had to suffer.

Its over, there is no way for Argentina to lose this one

14 seconds is daft, but then, you have to have a deadline. Apparently.

Yeah I think it's like 11 sides want that 35% chunk to be awarded based on league position. They need 14 to get it through.

And it's not about the top 6 getting the most, it, like current UK broadcast money, would be split. So 65% would be shared equally and the remaining 35% will be split according to league position.

I suppose they and others feel they can get more finishing in 8th than they do right now when it's all split equally.

The whole sanction thing was a mess from the beginning, match was played on Thursday, sanction is announced on Tuesday a few hours before the following match...

But I guess it also has to do with FIFA not wanting to videos of every other match to sanction players, or simply not wanting to do it with certain players. Of course now they'll throw the excuse of the 2030 WC for Infantino to be around.

I guess this means Hoeneß won.

dunno, after the first shock settled I think it could actually be a good solution regardless of who'll be the next Bayern coach (hopefully Nagelsmann or Tuchel).

Jupp will immediately command the locker room, he's the only coach in the world who'll be able to end Robberys (and to some extend Müllers) reign at Bayern. If they don't perform it'll be far easier for Jupp to bench them than it would've been for Tuchel. He's our only chance to finally and quietly hit the reset button, so that Tuchel or Nagelsmann can start with a clean slate at Bayern.

I gotta say I am quite shocked by Jupp's comeback, but with his reputation and relationship to Bayern's big dogs he might have the freedom to actually make changes.

Maybe this will allow them to reform and take a lot of pressure off the next coach.

Also Jupp finally got his Vidal back.

I am hoping for something along the same lines. He is paving the way for the future. Or at least i hope he is.

yeah "hope" is the key word right there. I don't even want to think about the alternative... if we are totally honest about it, it's an as creatively bankrupt solution as it gets. I hope Bayern really wants change, but on the other hand if they were willing to give up on our older and/or lazy stars they could just have let Carlo do his thing and look the other way.

And of course Tuchel or Nagelsmann in the summer is the dream scenario... but what if they go for someone like Klopp (shudder) or Enrique... fuck.

IN! What a time. To be alive. The only man I can trust to sort out our shitshow defense right now. Sure as shit wasn't going to be Carlo. Looks like Tuchel's not gonna cut it, and Nagelsmann is a big favorite for next season.

Just realised that Pep approved getting Heynckes back. (according to Uli). Very funny.

Oh please, don't even mention Klopp or Enrique. Bitte lass diesen Kelch an uns vorüber gehen.

I hope, there's that word again that Heynckes will do what needs to be done, but for the bosses it is an Armutszeugniss.

Once again shows that Jupp puts the team before his ego. He left with as perfect a finish as anyone can, but comes back just to help out. Good guy, Osram.

This wont end well....

Probably not, but at least I can enjoy the awesome Jupp gifs again and relive glory days

Just saw Jupp is back?! Nice!! Hopefully he starts the shift to reform the team and get fresh and younger. I do wonder how he will construct the lineup with this current team 🤔🤔

Jupp could be a good solution to unite the (purported) German and „Spanish“ side with his experience from Spain. We will see...
