Honestly, the club is more at fault. Why appoint him?
Again: you hire an Ajax-bred coach, then you give him a Sam Allardyce squad and ask for good football, then sack him after four games?
And again, the club and De Boer was in agreement (De Boer said this in public) that a complete overhaul of the playing style shouldn't and wouldn't be done overnight, but in a long term. And De Boer then promplty changed it overnight, fitting pegs in square holes in terms of team selection. He fucked up.
Yes, they shouldn't have appointed him in the first place, but they needed to act now.
