almost, Oblivion was the system seller for me. I'm not too hyped for the rest of the lineup.

Due to the rushed nature of the 360's launch, its power to deliver all that was promised is questionable. AA, AMF and frame rate issues bother me. But how can I know for sure if its the software and not the machine.

No. Basically I'm going to get a 360 for every TV in my house. PS3 as an entertainment machine would basically go out the window because of the network i'm setting up. Therefore the games would have to be the highlight. At this time, spending upwards $500 on a machine that doesn't suit my gaming tastes (mainly western) and not providing anything for me on the media front doesn't really make sense. Though I'll still be on wait-and-see for a few years down the line.

No, I tend to buy every system at launch, and I think there is enough high-quality stuff here to make the purchase worth my while. Having a 50-inch HDTV to play on doesn't hurt...

If I knew there'd be some on store shelves when DOA4 was released I'd buy it then, right now I just want to make sure I have a 360 to play it on.

PGR 3, PD:Z, (DOA 4 would still count as a launch game to some). Not sure if I'll get PD on the first day though, I might have a friend that can get me one cheap (works for MS).

Good question. GoW and Halo 3 don't excite me that much. Wait, why am I buying this again??!

Making my friends unwind their wired controllers as I wait impatiently with my wireless. Oh, and making them wind the controllers up again as they leave.

Backwards compatibility being glitchy with some of the games I missed from Xbox like Ninja Gaiden Black.

No, that's why I'm getting a 360. It'll be the more "classic" style controller to go with the Revolution later down the line. I hate the PS2 controller and the PS3 one doesn't improve anything for me.

The fact that by having the major japanese companies on their side of the fence, Sony can make too much of an impact near its launch, thereby spoiling Microsoft's market penetration. (i'm an Xbot i know, but i do like Playstation3's offerings. I just want them both to share a healthy business)

Yes, no doubt about that. I'm a tech freak, so it will have to co-exist with the 360.

Um, a little. I'm making what I think is the wise decision for me having been wishy-washy about getting one throughout the lackluster launch campaign. I have other priorities right now. But the lack of a "killer app" for me was probably crucial for my late decision to pass.

I was going to get PDZ, PGR3 and COD2.

Oblivion, Forza 2, ShadowRun, Mass Effect.

I feel the decision to bet everything on being first to next gen has weakened what should have been many of the true Xbox successors strength in favor of primacy and saving money on the console. I would also feel better if the Xbox would have been pushed longer because I really feel it became a top flight console over the last 2 years. But the timeline is a bit out of their control. Basically, I've gone from very satisfied customer to wait and see what the competition offers against it.

Tenatively, I think it has more potential to ape the strengths of the first Xbox and yet offer a better software diversity. But I hold a wait and see attitude.

Almost, Oblivion really bummed me out but the news of PGR3's quality and my girlfriend wanting to buy Condemned changed my mind. For a few days I convinced myself that I shouldn't pick up the system, glad I changed my mind.

Project Gotham Racing 3, Condemned and a few Xbox Live Arcade games.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Gears of War, Blue Dragon, Ghost Recond 3

Games first and foremost, followed by its brilliant online implementation, then the insanely awesome Live Arcade and finally how well developed its OS is and its media integration capabilities.

It won't be the technology leader anymore and most of it's marketing hype the previous generation relied on that. I am also worried about how it'll handle the forthcoming PS3 and Revolution launches.

oblivion and rr6 were my killer apps. oblivion's delay is a downer, but it's not as if the console is going to drop in price before it comes out, and it's fun to have a console at launch.

well, halo 3 and ninja gaiden 2, whenever they show up. sticking to announced games, oblivion, mass effect, and gears of war.

the early software looks pretty dodgy. could be some time before the lineup fills out.

The whole revamp of the XBL interface and building the GUI into the console, the dynamics of the gaming card, streaming content from other sources. Nice amenities, but it's all going to boil down to games, which I sure they'll have plenty to fit my tastes. Also XBL looks to be evolving from great to fantastic.

Negative feedback from industry 'gurus' and zealot fanboys. I justy like good games, and some just swear religious like loyalty to brands and see it as there job to crush the heretics that don't bow before their same console deity. And people think things are bad in the middle east........

Hell yeah! When a SKU is announced, I'll be putting money down on it and have it paid off 3 months later. It ALL about the games!! I know there will be at least 5 title that I'll want eventually. Same goes for the Revolution.

The original XBox has become a well respected second-rung to the PS2, the same can happen with the 360 I hope. The graphics dept I have no worry about. These first few sets of games will be rough around the edges but we are already seeing(through Gears of War, Mass Effect, Too Human, Armored Core 4) what kind of awesomness the machine can produce.
