WELD COUNTY, Colo. – The former chairman of the Colorado Republican Party is charged with forgery and voter fraud for allegedly forging his wife’s mail-in ballot from last year’s election, according to court records and sources.

Steven Curtis was the chairman of the state party from 1997 to 1999. He was charged Feb. 1 with one count of forgery of a public record, a fifth-degree felony, and an elections mail-in ballot offense, a misdemeanor.

The criminal complaint for his arrest says that Curtis tampered with a 2016 General Election mail-in ballot. Sources tell Denver7 that he signed the ballot, which was his wife’s, with her name, which led to the forgery charge.

Curtis spoke about voter fraud ahead of last year’s election.

“It seems to be, and correct me if I’m wrong here, but virtually every case of voter fraud I can remember in my lifetime was committed by Democrats,” he told KLZ 560.

Trump was right you guys.

The Colorado Secretary of State's Office says this is the only voter fraud case that has ended in charges stemming from last year's election.

Oh...

Sounds about right. If I've learned one thing last year, is that republicans are the absolute best at projecting.

Could obviously be sample bias here, but I'm pretty sure every voter fraud story I've seen recently has been a Republican voter. The woman in Texas that voted for Romney. The one in Iowa that voted twice for Trump.

HECK: Did you see efforts to penetrate any other portions of election systems, other than registrations? In this country it's a highly-decentralized system and, as a consequence, you will recall, then-Secretary of Homeland Security, Jeh Johnson, indicated that election systems should become a part of our critical infrastructure for cybersecurity purposes.

COMEY: Their efforts were aimed at the voter registration systems in various states, and it takes different forms in various states. Sometimes there's a private vendor, sometimes it's state. But it -- that's where it was focused, and not on the -- the vote itself, vote machines, vote tabulation, vote transmission, that we've seen.

Hmm

It's funny cause I can honestly say every case of voter fraud I've ever heard of has been by republicans.

Not that I think no democrats do it, but it's still ironic.

Where does this "dems are committing voter fraud" narrative even come from?

I've literally only ever heard cases of voter Republican voter fraud, and almost every single fucking time it's from someone bemoaning all the fraud coming from the left. I get that there's projection going on and I get that there's lies being spread to help push vote-suppressing ID laws, but there are Republicans that genuinely seem to believe they've heard of numerous, documented cases of Democrats, specifically Democrats, committing voter fraud and I'm just like... no?!

From the GOP. The end goal is to villainize the Dems/Liberals. Lie repeatedly and some people will start believing.

Mexicans commit voter fraud, and Mexicans are democrats. Duh.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it was some variation on this.

It's one of the many tactics used in the large scale effort to make it harder for minorities living in poor areas to vote. Such as targeted gerrymandering, greatly restricting voting times, purposely putting voting centers out of reach of public transportation, and more.

This is definitely one of the more overly racist parts in this all. An attempt to discredit the legitimacy of minority voters by suggesting they must be cheating because they are criminals by nature.

Racism.

Systematic disenfranchisement of minority voters.

You're forgetting the thousands of voters bused from from Massachusetts to New Hampshire 🤔
