Hey guys, is it safe for me to go back to the game on the PC? Not played for a while because I wanted a few more car packs to be released and then I read about the Dev version of the game being dropped on us and wiping people's saves!

Last I remember is that I unlocked all the festival sites and my map was littered with all sorts of good events to partake in :)

I keep jumping back and forth between the Xbox One and PC versions, even though the Xbox One version is clearly the more stable and playable version. But I'm in front of my computer most of the time at home and it's so easy to just fire up the game here instead of on my TV. At least PC performance is better, now that I've realized that my RAM has been underclocked this whole time (running at below 1600MHz, if you can believe it!), but it still doesn't feel as fluid or immediate as the Xbox One version, even while locked to 30fps.

And the PC version keeps revealing new baffling things. Like, you'd expect that the snapshots you take in photo mode would be available somewhere as files, right? But the Forza install directory isn't even accessible by ADMINISTRATORS, like all Windows Store apps. So the only way to grab those shots is to upload them to Forza Hub, which I guess means I HAVE to share them? Even though the cross-save stuff seems to carry my unshared screenshots over from PC to XB1 and vice-versa. Is there something obvious I'm missing, or do I have to resort to setting up my shots in photo mode, then hiding the UI and using the built-in Windows 10 screenshot stuff instead?

I'm assuming you are using the guide button to take pics on the PC. If so you will find the pics here; This PC>Videos>Captures. Also if you have the Xbox app installed you can see them there under game DVR (4th icon on the left). There is a "Open Folder" button there that will lead you to the location of the file. Hope that helps.

EDIT: re-read that last part again. Yes you have to share them, they will be in your profile page on Forzamotorsport.net. Only bad thing with that is the pics there are jpgs and compression is set fairly high.

The PC performance has really hampered my ability to enjoy the console version of the game. I kind of wish there was never a PC version in the first place.

I don't want to disrespect those that got boned with a bad game, but at the same time I'm looking for a place to share a love of the game that does work on the Xbox and there's really no home for that on NeoGAF.

So basically: thanks for really ruining my fun because your fun was ruined by a bad port. Now we're all unhappy! :p YAY!

I am confused about this PC performance issue ....

I do not have any issue. What is it people are seeing, and I am wondering if my setup is just that much better than most? Sorry, just a little confused. The game runs as smooth as butter for me (and I love it, just happen to be stuck in The Witcher 3 at the moment!)

Yes, the bad update was pulled within hours so not many people got it, and the proper version was released just a couple days later.

The XP needed to level up at higher levels is insane. Like 150k to level up, a 4 lap Goliath race with XP perks got me three levels, lol.

I just wanted to make a post about this. The club ladder reset just yesterday and you, fruit and Mr Arsenal are either close or over 1 mil already. Like what in the world. I was about to ask if you guys just race the Goliath all day. Guess I have my answer lol.

Yesterday I was looking at the club leaderboard when I was number 2 on it and number one on the leaderboard was already 800k ahead of me. I was curious if some people in the club just race on that goliath circuit all day to. Last week number 1 on the leaderboard had like over 4 times more xp then me even though I made the top ten.I got a bit over 1.1 million xp last week. I have only touched the goliath circuit twice since unlocking it. I would get really bored just racing on the goliath circuit for one hour or more so I don't really bother to race on that track usually.

There's less fun and more efficient ways to grind if that's all someone wants to do. I even did a 50 lap goliath race just cause.

The XP skill perks and HE cars add a bunch to whatever you're doing.

I remember the screenshots from Forza Horizon 2/FM6 not being so bad when uploaded to Forza Hub via XB1, I guess I was just hoping for better. I guess I'll see if the quality loss from not snapping the photo and just hiding the UI is better or worse than the compression artifacts from saving to Forza Hub.

They will be better. Using the guide to snap the pic will create a PNG file with no compression. Larger file size, but it will look great. If you are using photomode to take a pic follow these steps. Set up pic. Hit A to snap it. After the image has "developed" press B. Hide the UI and finally take the pic with the guide button. This way the finally shot looks even better. There is some post processing that gets done during the "developing" section. As long as you don't move the camera after that stage the quality will remain. I hope I explained that well. Some one will probably correct me :)

I mean how is that your take away here? They are just having a cross promotion right now with Amazon and GT. There is a monthly Grand Tour inspired rival event for January (the one they are playing in the video).

With that said having the three doing commentary for the intros and bits about the cars in was it Motorsport 4 or 5 was pretty cool I thought. Would definitely like to see them return for 7.

Not being able to navigate the map at all when using a wheel is really bumming me the fuck out. The dumb thing is it used to work with the dpad, but not anymore. If you have a dedicated sim set up this is really annoying.

New one starts tomorrow. It kinda sucks that they didn't bother to fix it but it was only a different livery for a car already in the game. Would have been more mad if it was a HE car that didn't unlock properly.

Well it's only a car in the game if you own the Blizzard Mountain expansion, and can't be bought in the auction house without it either. So it sucks for those people that put in the time.

The Forzathon reward car #75 Subaru is live now. If will automatically appear in your garage after you get the update. Just leave the showroom, you'll get the message it's in your garage if you already completed the challenge. You don't have to do anything.

Did you get a patch yesterday too? Because if not you're getting yesterday's patch now, which added the missing Impreza forzathon award. Anyone who already completed it and didn't get the car just needs to get the update and leave their garage.
