why does that matter? what's the potential for a next gen only FH that would not be possible on Xbox One at lower settings?
The biggest problem with 4 for me was how "progression" worked. I remember a few hours in and I had millions of dollars and S tier cars. Also the fact that you simply had to finish a race and not win it was dumb. These are always a great time but FH4 felt a little aimless, like there was no end to the content and was overwhelming. Luckily the odd number Horizons are the best of the bunch so here's hoping 5 is great.
But will it be a next gen game?

I'm hoping they also have a lot more restricted types of events that require getting specific cars.
Forza horizon 2 had a native Xbox one version while xbox 360 was done by an external team and it had some features romoved and therefore they could do the same for fh5.That's on the dev team to show us. I am pretty sure they could do a lot from a technical standpoint if the game was built from the ground up with next gen hardware.
But we both know that's probably no going to happen. It's crazy that the series x barely has any native first party games and it's even crazier that some of you think that's ok.
I would not be surprised if this was just a expansion for Forza Horizon 4 because if it's not a next gen game why would they make a brand new game right now instead of just a expansion?
I wonder what the gimmick will be this time. Changing seasons obviously doesn't work that well in Mehico.
I hope seasons will be just the same. Have one spring, summer, autumn and winter region.Seasons isn't gimmick as it brings different visual and gameplay changes and challenges. Plus every change of season brings new set of challenges and objectives to complete for different rewards.
map size limitations and other things with a new engine. I don't think the next Forza Motorsports is expected to be a cross gen title.
I assumed that too, but we might be past the days of last-gen ports by external studios being unique versions of the general game. With cross-play, it's valuable for the publisher to have unified online systems, and that means the games have to be the same. They can compromise on visuals, they can let the framerate go to hell (although this is Forza and I trust that it wouldn't), but they can't fork the product line anymore.Forza horizon 2 had a native Xbox one version while xbox 360 was done by an external team and it had some features romoved and therefore they could do the same for fh5.

The series could use an overhaul on progression and those boss events are just kind of "eh" now. FH3 was my first entry in the series and I spent a fuckton of time trying to complete everything and that seemed obtainable. I then played FH2 and just did the bare minimum to get by. I thought I'd burnt myself out on the series but then I played FH and had an amazing time (being in Colorado helps, I guess). I've barely spent anytime with FH4 in comparison to any other title. Every time I complete an event, 8-10 more pop up and I start getting paralysis by analysis. I get they want to make it a playground (pun intended) but doing everything seems like an impossible task and the fight or flight part of my OCD brain grows wings.
Imagine they use UE5 to recreate the mexico landscape. That amount of detail won't be possible on xbox one.why does that matter? what's the potential for a next gen only FH that would not be possible on Xbox One at lower settings?
It was hardly a gimmick when it drastically affected a car's handling. My poor Ferrari hates the snowI wonder what the gimmick will be this time. Changing seasons obviously doesn't work that well in Mehico.
FH6I would like them to drop the last gen console as well. Otherwise they are probably using the same engine and it is going to look more or less the same ? Turn10 are doing it right IMO with brand new engine and next gen only. I hope they show that.
Besides horizon 4 being in a much worse environment then 3 i can't tell you what changed.
-edit- i legit forgot about the seasons xD that is how impactful they where
They seriously need to up their game with 5
For me to be intrested.
but because day 1 gamepass who cares i guess![]()
You forgot because you don't play it, its a game changer as it effects the physics and the look of the map. At this point they are competing with them self, there is no single game that has the content or quality of Forza Horizon right now. They don't need to seriously up there game, the competition need to do that. Al they have to do is make a proper career mode and thats it.Besides horizon 4 being in a much worse environment then 3 i can't tell you what changed.

They are gonna add ray tracing now with the old engine i think but they wil likely use the old car models with new cloud tech maybe so they have tons of content on launch. I think thats the reason why Horizon is out this year and gave a extra year to Turn 10 to add more cars and content in the new engine. The game is gonna look incredible regardless as the current one is stil the best looking racing game. Can't wait to see what they have for us, it was a long time we had a Forza game. Im hyped ultimate edition as always lets go!Eh not that keen on Mexico if it is the case, pick up every Forza regardless and complete but.
They must want Japan next gen only, with the way the engine scales but not sure how much better looking it can get.
