It's got that similar feel to Gran Turismo 5 graphically, which is great.

Can't fucking wait.

Someone needs to hook me up with one of those Fanatac wheels.

You don't announce a partnership to something nobody can bloody buy.

I have a feeling Turn 10 is going to eat their words regarding 'definitive' this and that...they sound really insecure.

I have a completely opposite take on that. Forza 2 has been the definitive console racer for sim fans since its release. Forza 3 turns it up a notch while appearing to broaden its appeal.

It isn't like they have any real competition anyways, at least in terms of actual racing. I don't want to get into a Forza vs. GT thing, but after having played Forza 2 and GT5P extensively I have plenty of confidence in Turn 10's ability to deliver a great racing experience online and offline on this generation's platforms and I ... simply don't when it comes to Polyphony Digital.

Tracks and lighting look unbelievable.

Need to see proper gameplay though. Ain't found it anywhere yet. Those videos posted on GT look like CG.

Definitive relative to what? Nothing has released since Forza 2 in the sim department, unless you want to count GT5:p which is a prelude to the real thing and which does sport better physics than Forza 2.

Unbelievably impressed with the biggest piece of news; the way it looks.

With some stiff competition this Fall for the more casual racing fan, I have to admit I was worried if T10 could do enough to sell them on FM3. I think the answer is a resounding yes.

Now, when do we get to talk physics, and tracks lists?

Not really.

Ok question.

How many cars on track does Forza 2 support, i don't see more than 6 cars in any of those pics, i think less than 10 would be a shame at this point.

Thanks dude! We go DEEP on physics the weekend of June 12th. ;)

Man if only i didn't find sim racing games so boring :(

If you have a 360, download the Forza 2 demo or just go ahead and buy the platinum hits. You won't regret it.

Forza looks amazing.

I've never played a Forza game. Is similar to GT?

Check ^^^

Not nearly GT5 quality ? look, i'm trying hard to keep my posts gt free, but while i'll agree that GT5P cars still look a little better (at times...at times they look completely out of place, see replays in london) judging by these pics and that gameplay trailer FM3 has come *extremely* close in that department.

Seriously, i can't believe what the guys at Turn 10 did. I was expecting marginally better graphics due to different lighting and shaders, but this looks like a different generation compared to FM2. I just hope custom paintjobs aren't as pixelated : )

I wonder if we're getting windshield decals and the ability to write on tyres too ? :D

Chespace, tell your friends at turn 10 thankyou for making the forzas.

I spent hundreds of hours thrashing 2 and will probably do even more with 3.

I hate to do this but ah... NO.

I have high hopes for NFS Shift for the console sim racer genre. That one and Forza 3 will keep me busy this year :D

News to me. I've played Forza 2 and GT5:p extensively and the only edge I give to GT5:p is eye candy.

Seems kind of sad to discount Forza 3 based upon how/when you hope GT5 turns out/arrives. I'll play both(eventually), thanks.

Cool, some proper footage. Why bother showing the CG when you've got real time gameplay there?

Because we worked on this gameplay video until late night Saturday since we also had a ton of other stuff to do. :lol Also, we felt like this video serves the internets better as a proper showcase of our new engine.

Edit: Also, those FM3 liveried S4s are FREE for anyone who requests in our blog. Go!

I only have ONE worries. Is the game still as sim as FOrza 2 or better?

What we've seen in the video mode demonstration simply are cars moving like in an arcade game. Please tell me you didn't casualised the physics, tell me it was the arcade mode or something...

There isn't a single racing game out there with real-time DOF (exterior view) and tons of AA.

I know (except for GT5P which does do real-time DOF in replay mode among other things at 30fps), others do the same thing for photomode. Adding tons of AA, DOF, and full anisotropic filtering (or whatever is done to keep the textures sharp at all angles in photomode) I'm just pointing out that these are NOT gameplay shots. I mean, there are people in this thread already thinking it's jaggy free because of it.

We wanted to show how accessible the game is because sims are scary. GAF doesn't think so but the world does.

The truth is FM3 is even MORE of a sim than FM2. One of the big physics improvements we've added is real-time tire deformation and wall flex which directly affect grip threshold. We'll be doing deep dives into all of FM3's new sim features in the coming weeks and months.

It's only the first day! ;)

My understanding is that it's still a sim, but they have added some new assists for new players.

I am suprised more people haven't commented on this, didn't seem like a sim at all.

Does F3 have fly throughs and a practice mode so I can learn the tracks?

It's been a while but F2 didn't right?

Been watching the forzamotorsport.net video and is it still limited to 8 cars per race? or is that all you wanted to show at this time che?

Have a fun! Enjoy!
Did I just see the FordGT front/right tire bending in that close up/slowmotion part of the official trailer? WOW if they managed to simulate that. Pretty impressive.

Yes, our physics team worked very hard on tire flex modeling and it's one of the big new sim features for FM3.

Thanks for noticing! It's very subtle but it makes a big difference.

I know you can't confirm everything today on the first day, but could you please tell me if my Infinity G37 coupe is in the game. I just bought one of these and love it. The G35 was in Forza 2...

Thanks former Chromehounds buddy!
