It wasn't rhetorical. I just flipped on the TV while eating dinner--don't know why this is on.

oh okay. well then.

Originally, Microsoft approached Fox and wanted them to do a show that is exclusively sponsored by Windows 7, and they wanted it to have something to do with Family Guy so they could cash in on the show's popularity. They were supposed to incorporate Windows 7 into some jokes and whatnot. So Seth MacFarlane came up with the idea of a variety hour (basically, what we just watched).

But when Microsoft read the script, they thought the jokes were too offensive, as if they had never watched an episode of Family Guy and didn't know what they were getting into. So they pulled sponsorship, but Fox still wanted to air something in that time slot, so they found new sponsors (Ninja Assassin and Sherlock Holmes, apparently) and went ahead with the show.

The Cleveland Show has been the surprise show of the year. I thought this would tank, but IMO it's been better than both The Simpsons and Family Guy. Every episode has been gold so far!

I was doing laundry so I ignored much of the comedy special but the bits I did see had a couple good jokes. The rapist joke, alex borstein doing renee zellwigger. Glad it only took up a half hour instead of a full hour though.


Cleveland show finally caught up with the preview I saw at comic-con that made me give the show a chance, pretty much the crowd pleasing virgin joke followed by clevelands rap. It was uncensored at comic-con too.

The Family Guy episode about the Evil Monkey was pretty bad, especially the cutaway gags. The bit while Chris was sleeping was pretty funny though, I laughed pretty hard when Quagmire punched him in the eye.

I'm about five minutes into American Dad and it's already good.
