I love it how the democrats are saying all about this $40 million dollars thing. yes its excessive, but everyone knows damn well that if John Kerry had won it would be just as big. :lol

And if Kerry did it (though we'll never know, so you're basically just making shit up) he should be criticized as well, what's your point on this issue? That this wasteful excess doesn't deserve criticism because a few people on the "other side" would be hypocritical if Kerry did the same thing?

That was the funniest thing i have seen all day! The way the anchorwoman got totally flustered as soon as the other lady ripped into bush was classic. I dont think that fox news was expecting someone from Vanity Fair to be so forthcoming with their opinions on the innaugural celebrations(wich i think are insane and pointless). Also the Vanity Fair lady's constant references to "scrap metal" and "sitting ducks" were quite effective. What topped it off for me is when the two women got in to a Dana Carvey doing Ross Perot "Can I Finish?" shout off!!!!!

You can almost see the producers telling the anchorwoman to cut it off. Its like a switch being flipped - the anchorwoman went from trying to show the other chick up (and getting OWNED) to full-on Bill O'Reilly shut-their-mic-off-dammit mode.

Fair and Balanced indeed.

No swf found in source. Can not unblock something if I do not know what it is. (I block whole servers btw)

No picture in IE either. I guess it is too much work, or too difficult to source posts.

That throwing stick stunt of yours has boomeranged on us.
but... you're from Vanity Fair... I wanted to talk about the pretty snow in DC

Eh, disappointing. After reading the comments in this thread, I thought it'd be a lot funnier or entertaining.

You didn't like how the nice shot of the snow in DC turned out to be nothing but a horrendous prelude to Opa-Age level bickering on live TV? I wonder how the photographer who got that shot felt about that. :lol

It was unexpected, but not laugh-out-loud amazingly ownerizin' buckets of in-yo-face bickering that I had expected to see by this topics comments.

I mean, for the most part, they both were pretty reasonable and they didn't result to name-calling or anything. This was pretty tame.

This was the longest loading video I can remember since 56k days, but my, was it worth it.

How can anyone say Fox is "fair and balanced" with this kind of behaviour? I need to know how much Bridget Quinn is being paid for the loss of dignity.

The best part was when the anchorwoman said, "He's offered [something] and PRAYER SERVICES" and I immediately thought, "Yeah, those prayer services sure are going to stop some fucking bullets from entering the humvee's" and then the Vanity Fair woman echoed the sentiment immediately after.

I just love the look on the anchorwoman's face halfway through and at the very end, exemplifying, "The AUDACITY this woman who writes for a fashion magazine has of discussing POLITICS on Fox News!"

The black man everyone at Activision can agree on
Geez that prayer service should sure keep them safe in their flimsy HumVee's...

:lol :lol :lol :lol

That...was...AWESOME!

I love hearing the FNC anchors parrot eachother over the grilling Condi got a couple days ago. Edy Hill this morning on Fox and Friends was asking every guest they had on that morning basically if this kind of "disrespect" for a nominee was "normal." She was being really emphatic about it, too, in that "how dare they" kind of manner. Hey, Edy, ever hear of something called Checks and Balances? Maybe some of those congresspeople have forgotten what it means, too. Why should nominees not be questioned HARD about their job? Its supposed to be a test and evaluation of their ability to complete the job, not an ass-kissing formality.

OK, so Boxer and Biden, et al came off as being *slightly* petty, but that doesn't mean that the criticism wasn't warranted and I think everybody on the foreign relations committee should've posed similar questions instead of lobbing softballs. I think people are losing focus overall, though. These positions are JOBS. The people in them do not have a right to them, they are not pariahs, they are not royalty. Its been said time and time again that the president and much of his staff would've been booted out by now for all the mistakes they've made if they were employees in any real sort of company.

Anyway, my point is that nobody should get a free ride just because of who they are or where they came from. Their ability to DO their jobs is what is in question here.

Oh yeah, I just remembered how Edy Hill also questioned why Boxer used "rhetoric" instead of "facts" to present her argument. Oh, so those charts and transcripts she used to validate Condi's quotes weren't "facts?" Please, Edy, get a dictionary. While you're looking up the definition, you might want to check out what "fair" and "balanced" mean, too.

Classic Republican response. I'm confused though. You didn't mention the Clintons or Monica Lewinsky. Slipping?

Democrats wouldn't know how to spend $40 million on a party. They'd be all "hmm, I guess we're ordering 500,000 Safeway Deli party platters."

So true. Yesterday, I watched "THE BIG STORY WITH JOHN GIBSON" to see the reaction of the Faux news crowd over the Rice hearings. It was a sad, sad spectacle. Apparently, Gibson took Kerry and Boxer's questioning as an affront to all things holy and started labeling them as losers and still bitter over November 2nd. Then his diatribe on why Howard Dean should not be the next chair of the DNC, "Is that really where you Democrats stand -- with Howard Dean?", with his usual smug-ass, condscending grin.

Then, of course, he took offense at the fact that John Kerry wants Rumsfeld out of office. People like Gibson and the rest of the Faux-News Neocons should NOT be allowed on TV. They are not journalists by any strectch of the imagination, but instead parrots for the GOP talking points of the day. So fucking irritating..

I saw that, too. Tuned in right in the middle of it and was mildly amused, thinking he was just repeating something somebody else had said, until I realized he was reciting it as his own editorial piece. Then it was just disgusting.

Oh, and don't get me started on Linda Vester...she's the antichrist, I swear!

Bahaha. NICE! $40 MILL? Cmon now! That's not nessicary at all.
The 40 million comes from private donations by investors. The real money being lost here by taxpayers is the money being spent by DC for the extra security.

Still 40 million from anyone, for a party, during a time of war is crazy.
