Freedom Fighters..

How come this game got so little attention? I recently got it for very cheap and it is just great. I can easily say it is one of the better EA published games I've played. Graphics may look a bit dated but the gameplay is simply awesome, along with the soundtrack. My only gripe is having to click and hold a thumbstick to go into first person view, but the AI is MUCH better than 90% of the games out there and it simply adds so much to the experience. Everyone who hasn't played it yet should get it.

I guess there's no hope for a sequel:( IO Interactive are most certainly very talented.

Yep, Freedom Fighters is a solid game. Loved the concept and some of the levels are fantastic and encourage strategic troop placement that lead to some intense battles.

Only thing it needed was a co-op mode.

I really liked it too. There was a decent amount of fanfare when it was released but it's still a bit underrated.

The control is straightforward and easy to become accustomed to. There are a lot of cool weapons and it never gets tedious having to command your squad. In fact, it's one of the few squad-based games where I felt happy when I was able to command more at once.

The graphics, while not good technically, are nice. Everything has a colorful, almost comic book style. Personally, I think it's one of the better Western games art-wise.

One complaint I do have is that the game may be a bit overly difficult. I know there were some areas I had to retry many times before finally passing. Actually, I think I may even have lowered the difficulty at one point because I was stuck. Then again, this might have been due more to my tendency to just run into every situation guns blazing. It's really a game that pays for you taking your time and planning your course of action out beforehand.

Overall, though, a really fun game and definitely worth the $5 I paid for it.

Actually, Eidos commented on a Freedom Fighters sequel when they bought IO Interactive last year. I was suprised that EA didn't own the IP.

EDIT: Okay, I actually found a bit of news at Gamespot that mentions the sequel...

They also did not weigh in on the Freedom Fighters sequel, which was revealed in another presentation last month. According to that presentation, Eidos will distribute the follow-up to Io Interactive's alternate-history tactical shooter in the first half of its financial year 2006, which would mean the latter part of 2005.

For those who picked it up for $10 or $20, I can see why it gets love, but I would have been pretty pissed if I paid full price for this turd. Mind you I've only played the Post Office demo for PC.

I spent $2 on this when outpost.com or whoever was having that crazy sale, and I feel like I got ripped off. Can't stand this game.

Speaking of getting ripped off,

WHERE ARE MY FUCKING GUIDES SOUL4GER

It's been like 2-3 months now?

If you don't have them, just GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK.

The squad AI was great. Really felt like you were fighting in a group. Freedom Fighters rox, the music is awesome too

Keep checking your mail, that's all I can tell you. If you have a problem, PM me.

Pretty fun game, if rather repetitive.

The best thing it has going for it is the full 720p support. Just tried it out on my new LCD TV ... and it looks absolutely gorgeous.

I bought the GC version at full price (technically $33.33 since it was part of a TRU 3-for-2 deal), and it was worth every cent. I knew very little about it, but the glowing review from Gamespot convinced me to give it a shot, and I was glad I did. It's easily one of the best titles of 2003 on any platform.

My only complaint is that when the game really opened up to its multi linked mission potential, and really started to get intense, it ended.

Freedom Fighters has some of the best music I've ever heard in a video game.

As for difficulty--I actually thought it was too easy, once you got a squad above six people.

this and metal arms are both very underrated/purchased.

I thought it was a fantastic game, but the action began to drag abit near the end. Still, the awesome music kept the game fairly exciting even if I was bored of the fighting.

One of my favourite games of 200x(I forget which year it came out!), and a game that wont leave my library.
