Nintendogs has sold over 23 million worldwide. Why wouldn't they push that sort of title?
Shhh... before someone from Sony finds this thread and cancels the NA retail release too.
Can I ask why people are very much against this being digital-only? I totally understand not being happy because you'd rather have a physical product but shouldn't you be happy it makes it over at all? I would just like to know why people would miss out on what could be a great game just because it's digital only, because I don't really understand.
More like having a half of brain for business. This would literally sell 5 copies on retail. Vita fans don't give a fuck. If you're still on board with that machine I think nothing can sway you. In fact it's a miracle this game is even coming over.
This shitty support is really getting worse and worse.
Let the rights to publish the game to NISA, they could handle it better.
Meanwhile this thing got physical release:

Good Job Sony.
No one's missing out, we're just importing it from America, some of us wait for a sale or PS+ deal. Sony 1st party/published titles always make it to the west so there never was any doubt about this localization. This is not some fragile 3rd party dev that is in the position of supporting and keeping alive their platform.
Because I'd argue that the amount of casual gamers who own a Vita is incredibly small in comparison to the Nintendo DS? Brain Age sold over 2 million copies in Europe as well but I doubt that anyone even knows that there is a similar game like that on the Vita (Smart As).

Personally, it's not that I'm missing it out JUST because it's digital only. But because it's digital only, I literally cannot buy it without upgrading my memory card because my 32GB is already full, and to hell with paying another £60 for a 32GB vs ~£30 for a retail game release.
If the game had a retail release, I could buy it with absolutely no problems. I shouldn't have to manage my memory every single time a game I'm interested comes out.
Buy a 64GB, transfer games over, sell 32GB. Ta-da!

It can't be that hard to just delete something.
Can we complain about this? No idea if we could make a difference or not but there's no harm in it. Who do we contact?

Stupid decision is stupid, SCEE.
And what keen insight into the situation do you have to make this judgement?

So retailers asked for _insert nisa game here_ or Toukiden or Senran Kagura Burst or Hyper Neptunia? You do know that the decision to release a physical edition of a game is mostly driven by retailer orders yes? If retailers express no interest in a title, it ends up going digital only.
It's not like someone at Sony is sitting in a chair thinking " you know what, fuck people who want (insert obscure Japanese IP) released in a physical format." It is purely business driven.
I'm sure that's how it works, especially for first party games. You do know that the decision to release a physical edition of a game is mostly driven by retailer orders yes? If retailers express no interest in a title, it ends up going digital only.

If people are wondering why Vita Pets got retail and not Freedom Wars, it's because it's a lot harder to market digital to a parent buying games for their kids.
Thanks to this, kids' games are pretty much immune to being "digital only" for now.
Someday some of you guys will play Playstation Vita Pets and feel bad about being mean to it.
But the Vita isn't marketed as a kid handheld, so Vita Pet existing is just weird.
