C'mon people, after you see whatever else you're into, give Lady in the Water a chance.

There will always be something I want to see more. ShammyLammyHam made his bed with his last two shitty movies. It will probably get a rental eventually.

I'm going to see Clerks 2 in a half hour. If someone can convince me to see something else (like Lady in the Water, which Hota apparently liked), I'll see that instead.

I liked Clerks II, but for the love of Mann (that goes DOUBLE for you) go see Vice instead.

Hi White Man. I just wanted to quote your post because everyone else was doing it.

Well it seems the trend continues that Michael Mann movies don't do great numbers. Collateral did well because of the star power of Tom Cruise.

Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx don't have mega-huge star power. I think for Foxx this is really bad news finacially. Stealth was a total flop, and he acted like a pre-madonna during the making of Vice. I doubt Hollywood is going to offer him big paychecks. He screwed himself over by walking off the set Vice and making demands for private jets.

Farrell on the other hand still doesn't have a huge blockbuster opening, although he is supposedly very popular in Europe. Also to his credit he has a hard work ethic, which is why he was highly complimented for his dedication on making Vice.

LADY IN THE WATER

The movie starts out with a brief introduction to the story. You see caveman style drawings, and there is a Native American narrator. He says that long ago, the sea people lived with the humans, and taught them and guided them. However, humans wanted more land and moved away from the sea. The humans forgot about the sea people, and lost their guides to the world. This led to war, violence, grief, etc. Soon, the sea people stopped trying to communicate with the humans. Occasionally though, the sea people try to re-establish communication. All the humans have to do is see one of the sea people, but the humans have stopped looking, and forgotten how to listen. The sea people are sending their youngest/newest generation now to try to re-establish the relationship with the humans. However, there is an enemy. [The cave picture shows a large wolf/boar like animal.] This enemy attacks the sea people, and many never return.

I just remember watching Heat and thinking it was about as exciting as having carpentry nails hammered into my testicles.

With the previous FMJ hate, now topped by this admission, I'm starting to question your loyalty to good cinema.

ENJOY YOUR VIETNAM MOVIES, HOPE THEY DON'T BORE YOU TO ZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!

I agree with him. Doubly disappointing for the sheer waste of the not-yet-self-parodies DeNiro and Pacino.

I liked Collateral though, as a popcorn flick.

Go see Clerks II. If you like Kevin Smith movies at all, this is a fine one. I wasn't expecting much, and I really, really ended up liking it.

I find it very interesting that Shyamalan haters frequently resort to mocking his last name, which is hardly difficult to spell or pronounce. Other directors don't get treated that way...

Yeah, this is Heat's greatest crime. You hear that DeNiro and Pachino are doing a crime movie together and you think OMG THE POSSIBILITIES. Then you watch it and see it's the film equivalent of lukewarm tomato soup.

Saw Clerks 2, liked it a lot. Now I like 3 Kevin Smith movies.

No Miami Vice. I've fallen asleep watching too many Mann movies.

I saw it last night. I thought about lifting a few seat armbars and laying down to sleep, but there were too many people nearby.

I should have seen Clerks II a third time.

Actually it is a pretty tough name to remember how to spell if you're not a fan of his.

Other directors don't get that because most directors have more common names. Don't be so sensitive.

Wow this lady on the news just now "Tony Senical" who is beyond the most annoying bitch ever just TRASHED this movie said she was waiting for a Don Johnson cameo..? She said Skip It without a doubt. I wanted to go to that television studio and show her my frown in person.

The good news is the Miami Vice is projected to beat Collaterals numbers. That would make Vice the highest opening ever for a Michael Mann movie.

Great news! The movie definitely deserves it. This is one of the few movies that warrants a second theatrical viewing for me

Yeah, Miami Vice is a very boring movie.

I've heard just as many ShammyLammyHam lovers mock his name.

And I'm not a hater. I just think he made two crappy movies in a row.

$25.2M for Vice. Mann's biggest opening ever, yet still a bomb given the budget :(

POTC2 is still a beast. $20M 4th weekend. Its gonna do $400M (sits at $358M now).

I mock Shyamalashakakan, not because of his name, but because he can't act worth crap yet insists on casting himself in ever larger roles in his own movies.

Lady in the Water doesnt come out till september 7 here (no idea why such a delay) but im going to see it for sure. Even though the village got panned by everywhere i still thought it was worth the money (would of been great if the editing was better in the last 1/4 of the film).

I love the atmosphere and style of all M. Night movies.

Of all M. Night movies i only love the sixth sense, signs and unbreakable.

fixed for great justice

I didnt think the twist was half bad, just the editing surrounding the revealing of the creatures at the end.

the movie would have worked better if it was like a period-drama without the 'creatures'

Then how would they scare the inhabitants into staying within the village border?

Maybe they could of used snakes in the woods.
