The problem with Shark Tale will be that it will lose most of its audience by the time The Incredibles comes out; and the marketing blitz behind The Incredibles is supposed to be HUGE.

Shrek 2 was able to hold up against Harry Potter because it opened to 100 million dollars and then proceeded to go into a holiday weekend and make almost that much over Memorial Day.

Shark Tale won't have that benefit, so it will end up being a relative success...but I think passing $150 Million will mean REALLY marketing the hell out of this thing to try to eke out a place in the Top Five over Thanksgiving.

Duff comes across as so freshly scrubbed that ordinary teens would hardly recognize her as one of their own. (When poor James leans in for a chaste kiss, she recoils like he's asking for the moon.)

The movie seems to pride itself in following the sarcosanct guidelines for teen-movie production and marketing.
