At least the amirox post had some merit with how terribly sony was doing at the time and was based on actual news and he doesnt actually hate sony.

Nothing tops the pathetic shit i saw in here except maybe the wiiu bayonetta thread but even then people just wanted it on systems they own. People openly hoping a platform fails for no reason is pathetic

Seconding the request for a summary.
Wild speculation from a Tweet, ok. But what made it reach a gazillion pages in such a short time?

It was amazing. Before the reveal, which turned out to be absolutely no new information, people came out of the woodwork in droves wishing for the 'downfall' of Sony. There's multiple Wall Of Shame posts a couple pages back. The mixture of pent up anti-Sony sentiment, with the smallest possibility that the PS4 might have bad news, caused a wildfire of posts. The first few pages immediately filled up with people going back and forth from realistic speculation about the news, radical assumptions of down-clocking or even changing the GDDR5 to DDR3 (yea, i know, not even remotely possible), and even complete dismissal of any possible bad news.

Eventually, after about 20+ pages of baseless speculations in a matter of hours, the original poster of the controversial tweet clarified that the news actually nothing serious, and just information about how the memory worked. The situation was being completely overblown. People, who had only hours ago outed themselves as Sony haters and claimed that the Sony would experience a reduction in specs, were immediately put on blast, and ate heaps of crow. And finally, for the past 20+ pages, the thread has descended into a frenzy of people quoting and immortalizing Sony haters, a plethora of relevant gifs, and PS4 giveaways from Verendus.

It's been a weird night/day/whatever.

So basicly nothing happend...

Thanks for the summary. It's good to see the PS haters and how much they love to suck up to MS.

These fanboys wont be able to post so freely anymore.

A game going multiplatform = it is over for Sony?
A sequel to one of the biggest franchises in gaming that had been traditionally associated with the PlayStation platform when it came towards its modern numbered installments for at that time, more than a decade, and was constantly used as a crutch by PlayStation supporters as the saviour of the PS3, suddenly becoming multiplatform...it certainly wasn't a pretty picture for the PS3 that was being painted when the 360 version was announced.

Say what you will about the quality after the fact, but it was a blow, in a string of blows with, right after DMC4, RE5, etc. to the console in the west.

Yeah, I guess. Maybe it's because I'm reading it from a time where the PS3 is doing well.

It was short-sighted, in-the-moment nonsense -- not that dissimilar to those people using FF XIII as the supposed savior of the platform.

The fact that even in that time of doom-and-gloom for Sony most people just went "yeaaaaah... whatever you say, buddy" says volumes.

well shit at least they waited for confirmation it was nothing this time, Digital Foundry STILL wont correct their story about ps4 only recording 7 mins

Thank you, for this summary. GAF should have a stickied wall o' shame thread.

yeah, DF have no integrity, like the rest of the sites in my opinion. Downplaying PS4 advantages were one thing, the 7 min recording thing showed how petty and desperate their trying to downplay the PS4s advantages. In my book, their just another payed of MS shill. Which is a pity, I admired their honesty before, now their not even worth my click to get there.

Just reading this thread after a good nights sleep and I'm literally crying with laughter here. GAF please never stop being this entertaining, holy shit.

The fact that some people thought Eurogamer Spain would be the first videogame media outlet to break earth shattering news is mind bogglingly outstanding.

ooof...a thread of drama.

I kind of thought this would be bullshit. If there was a major breaking story Eurogamer would print it on the main UK site.
