From the games you have played, which boss battle was the most intense? (List more if you can't decide)

I just remembered the fight with the Icon of Sin in Doom Eternal. That was so fucking intense. The pure reason why the Holy Trinity is giving us gaming, in the Last Times. Now that I'm remembering the battle - I think devs simply just wanted for us to suffer. There's also the Ultra-Nightmare difficulty version and I don't know how could you not have heart issues after even from just trying to beat it

What do you mean by 'intense' ? In the sense of 'what the fu** is going on', i easily remember Bayle from Shadow of the Erdtree (god damm it how unpleasant is this DLC...), i saw some new year celebrations wih less explosions than this boss battle (i still do not know how i defeated it first try on a new game and on a new game +).

Probably that first Alma fight in the cathedral in Ninja Gaiden for the OG Xbox

I was working construction at the time (had to be on site at 6am) and that bitch kept me up until 3 when I finally bested her. One of those times where it was like "I'm not sleeping until this is done."

I don't think I ever felt so much satisfaction after beating a boss since. I fucking floated through work that day lol

Vergil vs Dante, from DMC3 tho

Just in general what the word "intense" means. Something that made intense for you

Boss fights that make you scream in your chair? Sephiroth in FFVII and Ornstein & Smough in Dark Souls for sure. My thumbs are still traumatized 😅

Dark Souls III's Nameless King. I dislike the game but I have never experienced a boss battle as intense and cool as that anywhere else. Sister Freide is edgy to the point of being lame and Gael is just a try hard serf by comparison.

I came here to say this. Nameless King is so, so good.

Any mythic raid boss in WoW more or less. Too much shit going on at the same time. Lasershow snd carnaval at the same time.

Vergil 3 in DMC 3

Ludwyg in Bloodborne (absolutely stressful battle)

Raven in Stellar Blade (I died like hundred times, no joking)

Simon in Expedition 33

Issin in Sekiro

Nightmare 3 in DMC

Malenia, blade of Miquella.

Most recent? Promised Consort in Elden Ring. I'm sure I lost a few years of life there.

Less recent... The Seven Force in Alien Soldier took a while to beat while being a pretty cool and intense fight.

Also, the fight agains the Burst in Furi. Pretty cool fight, love how the music tempo goes lower when she engages in melee.

And last but not least...

I do not necessarily recommend the game (most of it is forgettable and the DLC is some bullshit) but that is a great boss battle.
I will play it, just not sure when lol It's all about DS1, and I do enjoy starting a fresh game of DS2 as well (majula is amazing)

Had some drinks the other night and was fighting.. the end boss.. of DS1 for like the 6th time lol my ass could not parry a paper bag lol

I remember Bongo Bongo from the Shadow Temple in OOT being intense. Recently, a couple of Expedition 33 bosses were pretty intense - even the first Renoir battle.

CURSEEEEE YOU BAYLE. I HEREBY VOW YOU WILL RUE THIS DAY. BEHOLD, A TRUE DRAKE WARRIOR AND I, IGON. YOUR FEARS MADE FLESH. SOLID OF SCALE YOU MIGHT BE FOUL DRAGON, BUT I WILL RIDDLE WITH HOLES YOUR ROTTEN HIDE, WITH A HAIL OF HARPOONS! WITH EVERY LAST DROP OF MY BEING. HURHHHHHHHH

Amazing boss fight, Midra was also excellent.
Slave Knight Gael, Nameless King & Twin Princes from DS3.
Ludwig The Holy Blade & Lady Maria from BB.
Salazar in RE4 remake was boss because of the music and him shit talking you and a huge step up from the turd boss he was in original.
Metal Gear Rex was phenomenal for it's time, then fighting Ray as Rex in MGS4 was awesome
The whole Abstract Daddy sequence from SH2 remake, absolutely gross with the sex noises, flesh walls, Angela's little hidey hole with the teddy bear.
God Of War 3 Posidon, nuff said.
Kuwana final fight in Lost Judgement
Ryuji Goda Kiwami 2

Final boss fight in The Last Story
I think there was some kind of gimmick to it to deal larger amounts of damage, but I never figured it out.
It was a single fight for I think around 45 minutes until I beat him.
I was relying on running around for some cooldowns to wear off, so I'd have a resurrection available or something.
If I died at the wrong time it was game over

Titan Extreme in FF14.
Back in the day I loved that fight, it was so much fun. I danced around the battle area healing in rhythm to the attacks and watching people get knocked off throughout the fight lol

Sephiroth FF7 Rebirth

I was a bit bored after the 47th time he came back. And then he one shot me with his special move, which was super annoying and unfair

It has to be Genichiro just because he teaches you how to play the game. He's not hard (after), he's a brilliant teacher that unlocks your potential.

Taking down metal gear rex, fighting liquid on top of it, and then the vehicle escape / chase was just one epic fight after another.

Me and my roommate were so fucking addicted to this game and had it in our living room. One day I come home with a girl and we walked in almost exactly when he had a total meltdown over Alma and threw the controller into the TV. God bless massive CRTs!

We're still friends and live a 10 min walk from each other lol

I am ashamed and everyone has a right to shit on me

I am just infatuated with DS1 and to a smaller degree DS2

I WILL play and beat DS3... at some point
I laugh but I'm the same. DS1 is hands-down my favorite. Not into DS2 and DS3 felt like a slightly bored Greatest Hits collection. Only beat it once and I've played DS1 at least three times through.

Has to be nostalgia almost (even though 2018 was my first REAL GO on DS1, yet owned it since 2011 launch on 360 and just quit after 20 mins) But no way DS3 can touch this masterpiece.

Got to go with Mike Tyson in "Mike Tyson's Punch Out". It doesn't help that if he hits you any time in the first 90 seconds he will knock you down. (He can easily knock you down 3 times during that sequence and you'll lose.)

Ninja Gaiden Black - Master Ninja difficulty - Nicchae & Ishtaros

You have to fight two difficult bosses back to back with no chance to save or restock resources. You're in a small arena so you have to work the camera to your advantage with the right stick, and the timing windows are pretty tight. It's a grind.

Sekiro: Ishin
Nine Souls: Eigong
Hollow Knight: Nightmare Grim
Those are the 3 that come to mind that were really intense an fun. They feel challenging but fair, and that feeling of complete concentration where after hours of trying you beat them without even using all healing items is insanely rewarding.

Like Malenia and the final boss of Shadow of the Erdtree were arguably harder, but I didn't find them nearly as fun because most of their challenge comes from attacks which are annoyingly awkward to evade.

The correct answer to this whole thread is ninja gaiden 1,2, or 3 on master ninja difficulty and pick any fucking part.

It's all hell.
