From two-person team to Activision workhorse: the rise and rise of Vicarious Visions

Please go read the entire thing on Polygon it awesome!

I had no idea they are an super successful studio!
There's always money in the lemonade stand

"It's a little known fact," Karthik says. "I think all of our games over the years, the total is closing in on $3 billion retail sales. Which is not too bad."

But mostly, the brothers are happy to have a game they can share with kids. Karthik has a 4-year-old daughter who will play with Portal while he steers. Guha has a 7-year-old and they play together. They love games, Karthik tells me, but he's not sure that's their number one passion just yet.

"Our two oldest daughters," Karthik says, "last summer they started their first lemonade stand. I said, 'Aha! I'm taking a picture of that! They're going into business with each other!'

Nothing in there about the Call of Duty Vita game they were making before it got squashed and dumped onto Nihilistic. Bummer. Guess they aren't allowed to say much.

I went up to their studio in Albany, NY for a press event for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 - at the end of the event, Guha Bala, the president of the company, wanted to talk more, so he grabbed his minivan and we talked as he drove me back to my hotel - nice guy, real humble and smart.

A lot of people don't know the name Vicarious Visions and they might not like all the games that come out of there, but they were solid people.

Im sorry for you having to come to Albany hah (I live here). I haven't talked to anyone in VV in a while, or 1st Playable for that matter. Should fix that. (If any of you guys read this, I do cover unreleased and beta versions on my site, always willing to go for a stroll up to Menands or the surrounding area to do so)
