You know what i detest? Bank fucking holidays. And banks not working on weekends. Some of the richest people and organisations in the world just kick up their fucking heels, when they're obligated to handle our chief means of functioning in modern life. Would it be so hard for them to fucking automate things or keep some low level employees at the screens on a rotating basis? How many goddamn hours have people wasted because bank transfers don't get processed until fucking lunch time the following weekday? FfffffFuck.

It's useless. The main justification I heard is that it gives farmers more daylight to work in, but it doesn't. It just shifts the daylight by an hour. You would not believe the arguments I've gotten into about it with people who actually think it gives people more light to work in. Just change when you get up by an hour - shift workers do it all the time.

In the real world, no one seems to fucking program for it correctly in industrial software. It is always a checkbox/radio you have to toggle, and it always messes up tracking. Of course, it will always cause a data historian to lose an hour of data, so fuck you if you have a batch operation with multiple batches within an hour. Then I have to spend a day or three fixing records and forensically trying to put together the missing data.

So fuck DST. Fuck it hard.
