Does anybody have an idea when they are going to finish the series? I finally caught up with all the tivo'ed episodes and finished the episode after "her reason" can't remember the name of it though. After that it started from the begining. They are going to finish the series, right?

I don't think Adult Swim has officially announced when the second season of FMA will air but I'm assuming it'll air along with Ghost in the Shell: 2nd GIG (which has been confirmed for Fall 2005).

=| wow that sucks. I am hooked on the show. I need my fix.

There's a complete torrent of it somewhere on the net. You'd have to get used to subs though. I just checked it and it's over 8 gigs and has ~ 50 seeders/350 leecher. There are some bittorent clients that allow you to d/l specific episodes, you can use that to only get the second half if you want.

I tried watching the first couple eps with subs(i missed them) and it just didn't feel right. I guess I'm just used to thier english voices.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to try to hold out.

Just going to have to wait until later this year. They're still dubbing the second season. I personally can't wait either:)

At least you're not waiting to see the entire show for the first time on DVD like I am.

I started watching it on fansubs when it started it's Japanese run back in the fall of 2003 and then stopped after about five episodes for some reason...

Any anime with english voices = teh sux.

Except for Dragonball Z, they have good english voice actors, but DBZ sucks so that takes care of that. :)

I seriously hope you're kidding Ruzbeh because the DBZ dub is a fucking atrocity from an audio standpoint.

At any rate, I'm waiting on the new episodes too myself. I watched most of the show in Japanese but didn't enjoy it much. Been digging it dubbed much more though which is why my interested was revitalized a bit.

I used to think like this. That was back when I had the time to watch things multiple times which is now impossible. Its nice to just focus on the art, not reading subs. Besides, I think they did a great job with dub on this show.

$50/hour, but no kissing on the lips and colors must be pre-separated

Eh, I'm learning to hate that mentality amongst "teh hardc0re anime fans". Believe it or not, there's some decent dubs out there, and I think FMA's dub is actually pretty decent. Yeah, it'll never be an EXACT 1 TO 1 translation of the original Japanese, but for me, it's just far more distracting having to read the subtitles and try to absorb everything that's going on-screen. Now there are some US anime releases that I just couldn't bare to listen to the dub, the first series of Initial D being especially bad.

I agreed with this... in 1997.

While there are some really well done dubs such as all Ghibli films, Bebop, Wolf's Rain, GitS: SAC, and FMA (I'm unaware of most as I watch everything in Japanese with subs), the majority are absolutely atrocious. I've been playing around with AnimeNetwork and AnimeSelect On Demand lately, checking out some shows I'd never buy (watched some Narutaru last night, man is that a fucked up little show). Aside from Full Metal Panic and Cromartie (episode 9 was good enough for me to order the first two volumes), the English dubs (Mezzo DSA, Gravion, Narutaru, E's Otherwise, DNAngel) were terrible.

They'll finish when they're ready, as Funimation is still in the process of dubbing the second half of the series. Odds are CN will start up with new episodes in the fall, and they'll probably do the same with GITS: 2nd Gig to keep it back to back with FMA.

Possibly sooner than that, guys. Fullmetal Alchemist 2 PS2 (ships on July 12, if ebgames is to be believed) comes with the first two episodes of the second season on it (this is mentioned on the Square-Enix ad for the game). So I imagine that means ep 26-27, or 27-28?

FUNimation is apparently just about done with the dub. They are in the late 40s now and say the dub will be complete in about 3 weeks or so.

That said, there's really nowhere for Adult Swim to put it at the moment. Their lineup is really fully loaded until November, though they could do some lineup shuffling when FLCL is done and try to stuff FMA back in somewhere (it's almost a given that GITS 2nd Gig is going to take Paranoia Agent's spot when it's done).

The first volume of 2nd GIG hits DVD on September 20th, so I wouldn't be surprised if it starts up on Adult Swim somewhere near then.

You can bank it that FMA and 2nd Gig will play back to back. That was a really good choice to do for a line-up.

2nd GIG has been announced already for September on Adult Swim.

The problem is that at that point the lineup will be:

Futurama
Samurai Champloo - NEW EPISODES
Inuyasha - NEW EPISODES
S-CRY-ed - NEW EPISODES
Ghost in the Shell 2nd GIG - NEW EPISODES
???

Now, they can't take off Futurama (or some similar comedy show) because they tried that already and the ratings tanked big time. They can't put Inuyasha on too late because Inuyasha fans can't stay up too late past their bedtime (ba-zing!), and I can't imagine they would want ANY show having new premier episodes at 1:30 am. That lineup just can't support 5 series all airing premier episodes on the same night.

It's certainly not impossible for FMA to come back then, but it sure doesn't seem likely to me.

FMA is definitely one of the stronger dubs made along with Cowboy Bebop, and I greatly appreciate efforts like it to push dubs out of the ear-grating JUUUSSTIIIIINNNN range.

A full lineup has NEVER stopped Adult Swim from throwing something on the air.

FMA will definitely be returning to CN. They're still doing recording for the rest of the series so it's not completely done yet. FMA ratings were kicking GitS's ass during the run so I wouldn't be worried at all.

Now the question is..... will FUNi put the FMA movie on CN or will they attempt to get a limited theatrical run? :D

Hmmm.

All I know is that Rurouni Kenshin's english voices are down right terrible. Just... ugh. The Japanese voices on the other hand are very impressive.

teh dub for kenshin is more than decent man. YOU must not have heard really bad dubs ie. Crest of the stars.
Are there, like, more than 1 dubs out there cuz there are for DBZ and one version is really good while the other sounds like I definately coulda done a better job.

FMA's dub is pretty good, but I preferred the Japanese with subs. Cowboy Bebop had a pretty damn good dub as well.

Is Naruto going on weeknights or on Saturdays?

What I don't understand is how Miguzi is still around. Is it seriously getting better ratings than Toonami was?
