While the last few days of December are the beginning of winter, most of the winter takes place at the beginning of the year. We are indeed in Winter 2021 right now. Next year if the 2022 Winter Olympics actually happen, it will be in February, not December.

I mean obviously it is common sense, but people do talk about it backwards. They'll say something like God of War Ragnarok is expected Winter 2021. Well that would mean it's coming any week now. What they actually mean is the end of the year. That's why I made this thread.
