it's an action trailer so it's not something we showed here?
Would you say the humor is something like the Uncharted games?it's an action trailer so it's not something we showed here?

Looks like 1 of those cheesy, generic budget titles.
If this game was under Sony the original art style most likely would of been kept intact
I remember I really loved the redhead![]()
hehe.. well, so far for your elitist eyes.
The different art style isn't really a huge issue, the apparent change of tone is.
The Overstrike trailer was structured, detailed and immediately engaging as it was introducing four interesting characters with unique abilities.
The FUSE trailer was...SHOW AS MUCH SHOOTING AS POSSIBLE, WE WANT THAT DUDEBRO AUDIENCE!!!
I'm still interested in the game though, not willing to write it off because of a bad trailer.
Game comes off better in GTTV, but it's way too slow. It's sticking too close to the Gears of War checklist, when games like Binary Domain, Vanquish, and even Army of Two 40th day have made things faster and better. Players who are used to faster experiences like Modern Warfare are going to feel like this game is playing in slow motion.

That trailer was hilarious. I'm glad they took the time to show off the dry wit that was being promised and set up the characters and their personalities. I also loved how colorful the environments were and it left me puzzled as to why those initial screenshots looked super generic.
I'm also really impressed by the use of Unreal engine here, I can't see any texture pop-in. Though some of those assets look stock UE3.
EA... taking developers soul's. one by one![]()
True. It's hard to tell whether this is EA or Insomniac's own doing. I feel like Insomniac (Ted Price, more specifically, since he's the boss) is drunk chasing that elusive megahit; that flagship title everyone talks about. So they check all the boxes, they aim for that lowest common denominator, and just whatever it takes to appeal to the largest possible audience. It's a bad way to make games. It's a bad way to approach art. It's probably not an entirely bad way to make money though - I certainly don't doubt Ted Price's business acumen. But I feel like it fundamentally works against what they're trying to achieve.I dunno, but it was certainly weird to see Ted Price going on about how awesome is the violence in the game now. It'd be unfair to pretend what goes on inside Insomniac, but I'd wager this was a decision they made themselves, going by their history. They changed Resistance's sequel to try to cater to the more mass market FPS crowd.
Hah yeah dont get why you would want to know that anyway.lol @ geoff probing about a potential character death. I don't understand why people ask those kinds of questions do you want to be spoiled? Why put them on the spot like that. Doesn't make sense to me.
Gameplay looks like it'll be a lot of fun for people who are into co-op. I'm more into single player though so this isn't for me but it looks like it'll be a fun experience. Hopefully they can shake off the 'generic' stuff people are throwing around as far as forum dwelling gamers are concerned. I'm not sure how average gamestop mothers and casual people view these kinds of games though. I wonder which demographics are the most impulse buyers and which ones buy games based on how they look compared to others.
Like if a kid comes into a store with his parent is he going to look at this and say well it looks like a more explosive fun Gears? And then ask his parent to get it? I don't know if that goes on or if mostly hardcore people buy this stuff on amazon/newegg or something. I wonder how much of a role that plays in how you design these games and how much you change/implement from other popular games whether it's art style, XP count etc.
This isn't really fair imo. I don't like EA but there's no reason to think they're controlling Insomniac or sticking their fingers in the design process or anything. It's entirely possible that Insomniac wants it's games to be played by more people and be commercially successful and they may make artistic/design compromises they feel are necessary to end up with that result.
I remember reading this was Bioware's justification for what Mass Effect became but I find them to be much more sinister. I get the impression people at the top there seem to loathe gamers and just want to make a successful business at the expense of everything else. I don't think people would/should ever think that of Insomniac at least not yet.
I really wish people would stop blaming EA on this one, all you guys are doing is setting it up so that Insomniac can get some pity when this game bombs. This is a game published and distributed by EA via the partner program. It's the same program that Funcom used for The Secret World and Harmonix/MTV Games used for Rock Band. Any game-related decisions, good or bad, made about Partner Program titles falls on the developer. You want to blame EA for something? Blame them for not knowing how to market many of these partner program games.
its a metric driven game dictated by EAs market research.
you must be literally blind not seeing this....
I don't want to think that way but it looks this way... for now.
Explosions and dubstep. There certainly is a recipe here, and it seems like everyones a bit bored of the same meal.
Out in swollen at the seams March, with EA's sterling usual advertising support for EA Partners projects, and Bombatown's population will enjoy a new resident.
