So I just got my S2716DG today and I've immediately ran into some really, really strange issues.
1. First off, plugging this monitor into my GTX970's display port instantly turned on my PC. Weird.
EDIT: Turns out it wasn't plugging the monitor into the display port that caused this, it was plugging the monitor's USB extender plug into my computer that caused this.
2. When the monitor is plugged into my computer, I cannot turn my PC off. The second my PC turns off, it will turn itself back on again. Super weird.
EDIT: Like above, this stops happening when I unplug the USB extender.
3. When I turn the monitor off with the power button, my entire machine blinks and it's as if I've completely removed the monitor entirely - icons are shifted around, it completely goes away on the list of displays in the NVIDIA control panel, etc, etc. This is both weird AND annoying to me, given that this is not the case with any monitor I've ever used. I turn it off, the pc still detects it.
EDIT: this....went away without me doing anything. Huh.
4. Gsync does not work in windowed borderless mode in Overwatch - it's permanently locking my framerate at 60. In the NVIDIA control panel, I have it set to work in both windowed and full screen. Is this because I have multiple monitors...?
EDIT: had to go into the display adapter's settings and manually set the refresh rate to 144hz - figured this would have been done automatically :/
Anyone have any suggestions? I've never ever seen these kinds of problems with any monitor I've ever owned before, so this is rather concerning. I have a EVGA GTX 970 FTW+, up to date drivers, Windows 10. For what it's worth, I've also noticed that the NVIDIA control panel is SUPER slow and unresponsive.
EDIT: Found the cause of the issues, solved most of them....turns out my motherboard's USB 3.0 functionality doesn't seem to exist on Windows 10. No drivers on Gigabyte's website for them, either. I won't be able to use the USB ports on the side of the monitor. Oh well
