GAF Homeowners - How Old is Your House?

Was built in 1952 as a rancher and renovated in 2009 to add a 2nd floor and converted into a colonial. Bought this place in 2016.

Most of the complaints are from the design choices that went into the upstairs.

These are all on the same property but first house on it was nearing 70 years old (1940s) when we bought it. Our elderly neighbour said it used to have a pool in the front yard and be a home-based brothel when it was first built. It was a brick veneer single storey 3 bedroom place, great first home. We renovated that house with a kitchen, decking/patio, walls reconfiguration, room extension and landscaping etc. Out back we built a separate dwelling (granny flat or unit you'd call it) about 8 years ago for my home office; has a living room, office, bathroom, bedroom and all the plumbing etc to put in an open plan kitchen if we want anytime. Just 3 years or so ago we knocked down the old main house (was well overdue, thin windows, stumps on their way out, terrible heating costs, low grade materials etc) and built a new two storey house.

Place has been good to us, in 15+ years we've quadrupled the value.

Built 2017 and used as a marketing suite until I bought it a year ago (after they refurbished the interior obvs).

Can’t really fault it, besides the dumb placement of TV outlets supposedly suitable for wall mounting, and them forgetting to run ethernet to the lounge 🙄
