Get a tan

I don't tan, I just burn. It takes me approximately 2 minutes in direct sunlight to get a sunburn. If only I had inherited my mother's eastern euro jew complexion instead of my father's pasty ass white dude complexion.

Just got Undun. Awesome album.

Also, I'm having a hard time getting into Danny Brown. That voice is just so shrill. Something like Scrap or Die sounds great, but it's the only song of its kind on the album, and it's done in a kinda satirical manner.

Finally bought this, it's just as good as the Resolution EP

Also Daytona is dropping Interludes II on the 20th:

maybe I'm just still kinda high off undun, but I just started listening to that Money Making Jam Boys mixtape again after not really paying close attention when it first came out, and uh...this shit is kinda amazing.

It's the complete opposite of undun in a lot of ways (no fancy concepts or whatever, just the Philly equivalent of "swag"), but these dudes are spitting.

that tape is bonkers, people don't sleep on this shit

You need to listen to his Detroit State of Mind tapes and The Hybrid.

I saw this K. Flay chick open for Grieves a couple days ago (didn't someone on GAF-Hop post about her a while back?), and I swear her drummer had a side part. I immediately thought of your posts, lol

as soon as my hair grows back out... it's coming, bitches.

p.s. what'd you think of grieves?

Chip Tha Rapper? Really? With a name like that?
Oh man, I don't even think that's better, lol.
As if the other names rappers come up with are any better, bro.

Chip Tha Rip makes some okay raps. Half the time I think he's from the south due to his voice but he's from Cleveland. After hearing Hyyher (feat. Chip Tha Ripper) on Cudi's debut album, I figured he isn't so bad.

XXL Mag 2012 Freshman list candidates:

Looks like that leak was fake. I love how Tyler gets snubbed, but earl catches a mention. All's right with that, but still... ASAP?

e: I don't know half these fools.

Bronson, Earl, and Danny Brown are all I really enjoy off this list.

Chip was easily the worst part of the Cudi concert. Not a fan at all.
Yeah, he's so bland to me. Both his features are minor knocks against both of CuDi's albums, IMO. Hes made a pretty decent following off of CuDi putting him on though, gotta respect that.

I've been in the waiting for this one. The first interlude was a quality tape. The Kid is getting slept on pretty hard round these parts.

I pimped interludes pretty hard on here last year, im looking forward to part 2.

And someone mentioned having trouble getting into Danny Brown, I went from being a big fan to not listening to him at all. I gave XXX barely any listens and didn't even bother with black and brown despite being a big black milk fan. And it's because of the voice which just reached it's breaking point with me. I like his lyrics, I like his energy, but I just reached my limit of being able to stand that fucking voice. Also, as lame as it is of me, I have to admit the way he looks makes me not want to listen to him either.

I'm not huge chip fan but I like that he seems to not take himself too seriously and he is reasonably talented and entertaining. INTERIOR CROCODILE ALLIGATOR I DRIVE A CHEVROLET MOVIE THEATEEEER.

Preach. Awful delivery.

I'm actually a big fan of his delivery. It's fucking weird but NOT grating for me.

and yeah Gambino is nails on the chalkboard for me...so different strokes I suppose

I dig Danny's eccentric delivery, a lot. He's like the epitome of the saying 'The line between love & hate is a thin one.' His voice offends, greatly, but there's this quality to it that draws a listener in draws out surprisingly strong reactions. And it's not just a simple case of polarization like Gambino, someone who should never put his irritating ass voice to another track ever again, it's something different that I can't really put into words.

I remember a little while ago I asked what people thought about XXX. I've been trying to listen to it but failed. Tried again recently. Nope, not for me.

XXX is one of the best albums of the year and Black&Brown was more goodness.
I'm a fan of "alternative" styles of hip-hop. Shit that approaches rap in a different way. Danny Brown's choice of beats and delivery is right up my alley.
I love it when he switches up from the high-pitched shit to deep as hell. Not only that but he has plenty of songs where hes not even doing that mess.

Speaking of Gambino, I gave his album a couple of good listens during my trip and my problem with him is he tries too hard and it comes across as fake as fuck. Even though he's imitating wayne and drake and big sean and all those "super duper" rappers, he is a more talented writer than all of them. He writes some really funny and clever lyrics that blow anything those other dudes do out of the water, but his rapping feels forced.

Also gave Bronson's Well Done some good listens after mainly listening to Bon Apetite and I am really fucking impressed. Statik Selektah's production is incredible and action has shown me he can actually put together a cohesive album. I am really looking forward to his next album.

Oh and Blackace, the last half of that poppy1 mix is ridiculous, you went full thrusters ahead on that shit. And I love the transition to Me So Horny.

What? I love his verse on The End. Dude went neck to neck with GLC.

The transitions were nuts, agreed. Black and yellow->all i do is win was also sick.

After a couple times through, I've decided that I will insta-purchase the mixed/mastered version of Give Me My Flowers.
How old is this thing?
I like it way more than No York and a bit less than Below the Heavens, but that album is...well, I don't need to say it.

its a real line from Bonfire. that's the sad thing about it.

Camp might be more facepalm inducing than Cole World. And that's an impressive feat.

How can they be knocks when he kills both features? Hyerr is one of the best songs on MOTM and it's partly because he has a ridiculous verse on it.

"Every show got a bag for the blow and Patron all my niggas getting throwed/ like they posed to/ Cause life is short/ And filled with lots of grief and doubt/ So I just pull out that bag of colorful frosty leaves on out and free my scalp"

Really, they should have just ended the song after Chip was done. Cudi adds nothing to it after that beating Chip gave it the beat. That's flow.

You are so silly Enzo.

p.s. what'd you think of grieves?

it was a small venue on a Wednesday night, but still a fun show. His producer Budo was a trip...dude apparently knows how to play every instrument, and they were both energetic as hell. And he didn't suffer from "run out of breath after every line" syndrome that a lot of other live MC's do. He sounded as clear as he does on record, for the most part.
