asap is good... only time i thought of lil b is in the peso video clip at the end of the second verse and that just the hand movements... lil b rapping is terrible, its like hes trying to write the dumbest rhymes possible, and thats following soldier boys lead

i mean come on

and my friend and i were talking about doggystyle a few weeks ago... easy top ten cd of all time for us, and easily better than chronic for us at least... i like about 4 or 5 songs on chronic, but the whole snoop cd is good front to back

Yeah, i was down on him based on a few posted songs here. But i took a night and listened to his album, pretty good. I wouldnt say great, but it was nice.

he's definetly going on my end of the year "thanks for participating please come back next year because we see great promise in you" list, along with kendrick lamar, action bronson, and some others.

could have been. I believe prior to me sitting in the Atlanta airport for 7 hours with my mp3 player I was pretty lukewarm on the dude. I got halfway through the album before I realized what I was listening to. its got some weak spots but overall its a great album and ASAP is way better than I originaly have him credit for. I had the belly album loaded up after it and they go together great.

I'm talking on my cellaphone!!

safe travels man. Holiday flying always sucks. Good thing about a long layover though, odds are you wont miss your connecting!

I think you and I are the only ppl who listened to the belly album :/

Have a safe flight btw dude.

This is sooooo true. Its the only "real lupe" song on the album, so it gets overrated to hell. Its honestly nothing special .

I hate when people use this stupid excuse. "X is only good cuz everything else was bad!" Isn't it maybe possible I think it's a good Lupe song, even compared to his pre-Lasers work?!

You may think so, but it is over hyped and would be an average song on his previous album.

I think that's why it gets so much love. At least, that's how it gets my recognition. I've probably amounted more plays of All Black Everything than I have the rest of the album.

maybe I'm just still kinda high off undun, but I just started listening to that Money Making Jam Boys mixtape again after not really paying close attention when it first came out, and uh...this shit is kinda amazing.

It's the complete opposite of undun in a lot of ways (no fancy concepts or whatever, just the Philly equivalent of "swag"), but these dudes are spitting.

Slim Dunkin may or may not be dead. No concrete confirmation yet either way. It's kinda sounding like he really is dead now though (gunfire).

They don't...Gucci Mane is one of the biggest distributors in the ATL and other southern regions, and Bricksquad is closely affiliated with him.

The more I listen to the new Common, I'm 10000% convinced it would be a much much better album with either Kanye (or fuck it, even Big Sean) rapping over it. Why? The beats are cool, but overall album the album lacks flavor. Its pretty vanilla. Kanye or Big Sean would make it a hell of a lot less boring at the very least. And I like Common.

I'm gonna get run out of Gaf Hop for this opinion aren't I.

I dunno, I guess what I was trying to say is that for whatever reason, I liked FF more than Dreamer/Believer. I realize that in no universe should this ever be true, but fuck it, FF was more fun/interesting/less vanilla. Maybe Big Sean just got the better beats, I dunno.

Common's album was dope as fuck. Kanye would of talked about his demons and how they keep him from wearing Versace or something. Big Sean, keep his supa dupa raps away from my ears. Common killed almost every song on that album. Blue Sky is my #1 song of the year.

So is the Blu/Exile "album" worth listening to, or should I wait for the mastered version on Christmas. I wonder what Exile thinks about his hard work being released in such poor quality...

Just don't buy it and listen to it off the website to see if you like it before you buy

And yeah Recon, I agree that Bluesky is fucking awesome, it was that song that hyped me up on the album. My ye stannery gets in the way sometimes though. Also, maybe my hype was just too high for the Common album.

Common is a paradox to me. I think he's a great rapper and usually has a great ear for beats, but I'm just completely indifferent to most of his material. Common is like organic food rap. Good for you, but no fun.

EDIT: And fuck man. RIP Slim Dunkin.

Any conversation of 2001 > The Chronic degrades the forum as a whole

I think it sounded fine. At least it was mixed properly, not being mastered sucks, but it isnt that big of a deal.

Meh I'll wait. What I listened to sounded so...empty. I had been waiting to hear More Out Of Life ever since I heard a live version of it a couple years ago. Yet the studio version sounds so soulless...blah.

Looks like that leak was fake. I love how Tyler gets snubbed, but earl catches a mention. All's right with that, but still... ASAP?

e: I don't know half these fools.
