Also, XXL should really think about putting the artist music when you click them or give a link to their latest mixtape or something. I'm typically interested in seeing if any of these dudes I've never heard of are good and I'm sure other people are too whenever they see the list. I mean, I'm sure someone looks at Danny Brown and say wtf?! and if they click on his music they can really see what's up

I didnt listen to it. After Rolling Papers dropped, i wasnt checking for anything Wiz did. Also, Outasight gets no love in Gaf, but i think he puts out some really good, catchy hip-hop.

And I swear, if most of us haven't heard of dudes, they can't just be hitting XXL out of nowhere when other known cats get snubbed.

That new blu and exile album. I remember watching this youtube video on repeat for like days because of how dope the song was. It was a live performance of a song that i thought was so dope, but the quality was pretty shitty since it was live and on some phone cam, an I thought it would never be released...But it's track 2! HELL YEAH.

Unbelievable. My god, this shit is sick. Do they plan to have a mastered version released on Dec. 25th?

BrandUn Deshay is such a bad rapper but a pretty decent producer. His work with Casey Veggies is great. Dude rides Tyler's dick hard.

Fucking Big Sean? Really? I mean, I can see how one would like Kanye even though he is clearly an inferior rapper to Common. If Kanye tried being like his TCD self (impossible to do at this stage) then that's a maybe at best. But fucking Big Sean? That would be a crime to these soulful beats and hooks.

Not to mention since No ID was the exclusive producer for Common's first work, it's like things have come full circle.

i rather like how they're doing the Freshman list this year.

Clearly XXL has shitty taste so they've left it up to their readers to decide who they think is next up. The list this year could be pretty good.

in other news. i like this new Blu & Exile album a whole lot more than the first one. Blu seems like he's a lil touched in the head, but he sure knows how to make some smooth, low-key hip hop.

i fucks w/ this and HerFavoriteColour

he needs an executive producer (a whipcracker really) to reign him in cause left to his own devices...he's iffy.

like...smh @ trying to charge for an unmastered album. even if it is good.

This is exactly how I feel about the new common album. Production is great (and reminds me that the best thing about Kanye was No.I.D and the minute Kanye left that sound is the minute I stopped caring), Common comes correct, the songs are all great, but I have a hard time just sitting there listening to it.


11 hours in economy next to some old lady, im so fucking glad to be the warm weather.
