Buck moving to Cash Money must have pissed off childish 50. It's not about the money anymore, because 50 would have gotten the money back if Buck signed. Shit is stupid as fuck.

GAF-Hop - what's the consensus on the Common album? Worth picking up?
KRS-ONE killed me in BEEF 2 dvd : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmW447Lhvnk#t=2m31sidk where i'd link them from (i only have streaming) so i'll just name the titles.
i would've never known they were on there if they didnt start popping up in my recommendations because of my roommate.

Fixed. If you like actual GOOD music, then fuck yes.

giving section80 a run through since i cant fall asleep yet...i'm still baffled that its such a polarizing album on here. although i guess we are quite the diverse cast of characters.
If you like Common and NO I.D. then fuck yes.
Because it is those two and the album is so meh is why people say it sucks..
Like the Firm
I have to figure you are trolling. NO I.D. is on a lot of people's Producer Of The Year lists. Common isnt as good as he use to be, but still better than 90% of the trash that gets pimped in this thread. Blue Sky/Ghetto Dreams/Sweet/Celebrate/The Believer are all much better than "meh". The rest of the album doesnt reach those highs, but is still worth a listen.
Blue Sky is the only song I consider to be a high...
And it's funny how when people comment on what you like they are trolling but when you do you are just "telling the truth"
As for NO ID never said he didn't deserve his props for this year... But people had No ID as poty before the common album..
damn, my next weekend cant come fast enough.
i keep trying to get into Bone, but CRS tells me not to mess with E 1999 Eternal :_;

I know some people like Creepin more but this is where its at for me
*dap* Favorite album of all time.
I can see people liking Creepin' more than Eternal. Too bad they'd be wrong.
I will say that Creepin' + Eternal is the best unofficial double album.
Hahahaha, siddx.
Let's mix it up a bit. E.1999 Eternal > 36 Chambers and Art of War > Forever. GO.

Last years version of this was incredible. This year is just as good and well produced. Not sure why Big Sean is autotuned. I died of laughter when Plies came in.Might be old but has this spook video been posted?

lmaoCommon Album is a flavorless granola bar. Probably good for me, but damned if I'm gonna sit there and chew it.

So Spot on...Also what's up with Yoda, don't know if I made the cut or not?
I love those songs (minus Celebrate, it's alright), but I think Gold and Cloth deserve to be right there, and I think Gold is better than Blue Sky and Sweet as well.Blue Sky/Ghetto Dreams/Sweet/Celebrate/The Believer are all much better than "meh".

The best thing about Ghetto Dreams is the chick in the video.
Kendrick has poor flow.

DiscoTheque said:his flow is certainly lacking at times. Like he knows he's got smart lines and he refuses to cut them down to fit with the beat, he clashes with the beats instead.

Yes.
west coast Talib Kweli?

Dat ass
Q's Druggys With Hoes verse is verse of the year.Pretty much. Every now and then he "gets" it (Rigamortis, Ronald Regan Era) but most of the time, he's just so stuck on trying to say some deep or clever shit he just forgets about the beat. He's voice isn't that great to begin with either. While Kendrick maybe the superior technical rapper, as far as sounding goes, everyone else in/on TDE shits all over him.
Yes.
Accurate way of putting it though is that he has an inconsistent flow. Flowing one second, trying to do some spoken word shit irregardless of beat another second.

I wrote this record while
30 thousand feet in the air
Stewardess complimenting me on my nappy hair
If I can fuck her in front of all of these passengers
Theyll probably think Im a terrorist
Eat my asparagus, then Im asking her
We're not saying he's terrible just that his lows are MUCH lower than his highs are high. Hol Up has too good of production for lyrics this bad
Haha, his delivery makes that line bearable. But he suffers a lot for stupid lines like that. It still amazes me Cole gets shitted on, yet every other Rapper has lame bars and people just ignore them.
I think you've found a way to articulate how I feel about Kendrick better than I ever could. We're not saying he's terrible just that his lows are MUCH lower than his highs are high. Hol Up has too good of production for lyrics this bad
Cole talks about social issues, and is able to coherently convey them way better than Kendrick can. Whether they are issues relevant to you is another issue entirely, but Kendrick is a bit overzealous at times.Well from what I have heard from Cole is nothing but lame bars, sans a very few of his songs. Kendrick does have funny or lame bars depends on how you take them, but at least he talks about social issues and such. J.Cole not as much. Maybe I am just a social issues rap fan, but this money, cars, and hoes crap has just about tired me out of most hip hop these days.
