How good/bad is Kendrick's deal?

I hear all the time that Drake has the best deal in the game. Plus he has his OVO brand/mercy that seems really popular.

J Cole has a crazy fanbase and he's got that whole dreamville(can't name another dreamville artist) but it definitely seems like he his shot together and his tour was super successful.

What about Kendrick? Kangaroo fuckwad seems to be in complete control of TDE's management' Kenny doesn't seem too involved.

Holy shit @ Fantano's mugshot being used in the news for the school shooting.

I mean, my first reaction to images of the shooter was that he reminded of him, but still...

Steady Mobb’n- Pre- Meditated Drama

220px-Pre_Meditated_Drama.jpg

After the success of TRU critically acclaimed double album “Tru 2 Da Game”. Next up from the No Limit label is a rap duo from Oakland, California by the name of Steady Mobb’n consisted of Crooked Eye and Billy Bathgate. Their debut album “Pre-Meditated Drama” returns the No Limit camp to their origins of West Coast flavor with some southern seasoning on it. The album for the most part is good, despite being some slow moments on the album. Yes…it’s one of those Quantity>>>>>Quality albums that have more meat than steak sauce. You have tracks like It’s On, Puff Puff Pass, West to South, and Block Monsters that give the album some legs, while others drag the album out. Of course, the No Limit camp is heavily featured throughout the album but some of the features having saving grace. For instance, Mystikal makes his No Limit debut on the album and Mac continues to bless tracks with his lyrical display of wizardry.

Bottom line, Pre-Meditated Drama is worth a spin if you love West Coast hip hop or want to hear what the lesser known albums from No Limit have to offer. It’s a cool album, but it’s like a good movie with that middle part which drags the entire movie down until the conclusion.

Overall Score- 7.5

Des will you be making a rapup for Q3?
Yeah on the low though and just on some when I get to it shit. If someone wants to take the reigns at this point I'm down, it doesn't take much time, but I can't help feeling like my tastes is not as representative of the norm as it used to be...

New albums really dropping every day in this climate, whenever I turn around someone "quietly" drops an album.

Overwhelmed with releases but not not liking it though

Regardless of whether your taste still aligns with whatever you think the norm is, you still know quality and listen to a ton of wrap music. Rap Ups are a valued part of This Community™. Don't let your country down.

Plus they're way more convenient to have on hand than scouring hip-hop sites looking through "Best Of" sections.

Thing is, myself and many other people value your opinions and writeups on music, regardless if it's outside the norm. It probably wouldn't be the same with someone else.

Like imagine JC's Racist Rap Ups with not one white artist in sight

Or RP912 putting Jay Rock's album in the first spot

Or the Kanye Klan always having "Kanye's Next Joint" in the first 5 spots

:/

I was looking forward to that shit ;_;

My favorite track of that album so far. Been listening to them since I found them tonight.

Shoutouts to the Coolie High Paradise Remix. I love how they sample MJ on this one and Janet on the original

Saved. Going to wait until I finish the album that I'm listening to and I'll hit up this remix.

Underrated group and amazing album.

Their latest album Ragtime Hightimes came out this year and it's pretty good.

Here's a track from the album

Thank you!

Anybody check out the new Deacon the Villain album? Was hoping for some Kno production but Deac produced the whole thing himself. May not be bad, he produced some of Natti's tracks on Still Motion and that album was great.

Man the production on this (sampled and live instrumentation) is really good, but I'm not sure how I feel about it as a whole yet. Hasn't grabbed me like most of CL's work (even Kno's Built To Fade project which I really, really like). The 2nd half is more traditionally Cunninlynguists style music, but the 1st half is....different. More lengthy stretches of singing, higher energy funkiness, etc. Leans quite heavily on Outkast in that respect. Well paced and structured album, though.

Either HRD does the rap up and gets a few dozen replies, or no one does it and that's that.

That's what the stakes are.

Its like some garage band shit you did in high school with your friends, high listening to Nirvana, in 10 minutes. Some shit you lock up in a vault and make sure it never sees the light of day.

The bassline is the only saving grace of that track to be honest...but yeah this is like a dude doing his worst Jim Morrison impression in a karaoke booth at a state fair.

Reminds me of this girl that tried to sing Lauryn Hill's Ex-Factor at a theme park that I went to many moons ago. Poor soul tried her best but failed :(
