What if I told you this new The Game album released in the year 2015
was good

I'd tell you to listen to Jesus Piece instead because people underrated the hell out of that album and it's way better than The Documentary 2: Disc 1 of 2, The Documentary 2.5: Disc 2 of 2 Coming Soon

I'm going through The Documentary 2 and what's with The Game name-checking/name-dropping other rappers in every other song? Non-stop worship of other people in hip-hop.

There's definitely something to The Game that he will never say outright with that name dropping. I can't figure it out but props to him, his longevity and ability to stay relevant is impressive.

Plus his taste in production is immaculate.

Yeah Game always have them godtier beats.

Why You Hate The Game has got to be the best Just Blaze beat of all time

I guess Game gets a pass for all the flow biting he does because

A) He can pass it off as tribute or homage (AKA the Jay "When I say a BIG verse, I'm only biggin up my brother, biggin up my borough" excuse)

B) He's so damn good at it. Like he's really fucking good at taking cats' styles and running with it. Who else you know that can make a song with three verses each sounding like a different mainstream rapper, all three fire?

The choir parts in the second half of the beat easily Games best song. I swear Blaze uses elements of this beat Lord Knows and Compton comes to mind immediately.

Young Thugs flow on Draw Down off Slime Season is next level. Amazing.

It's weird, man. I used to pay no attention to Young Thug, thought he was one of those one-offs who come and go, just some weird joke character. But then I heard his stuff with Travi$, then solo stuff and damn he has a crazy good understanding of melody and flow. Like, he is like silk on most of the beats he's on.

Slime Season finally made me a believer. Really interesting dude

I really enjoyed Danny Glover and Stoner when they dropped, then with Old English I was fully on board with him.

The amount of dope shit he's dropped since... banderas.gif

Same here man he stared really catching my attention with Mamacita, Skyfall and About the Money. Then I bit the bullet and listened to Slime Season after enjoying the other features and songs (Ole English is still great) he's been on and really enjoyed it i even went back and listened to Barter 6 as well. Dudes flow is really on point and the production is really great. Looking forward to HiiTunes

This double release tactic is so much better than releasing an enormous double album in one shot. Even if everything was dope, we would get tired of it because of the length and would not appreciate the package as a whole.

The way it is, pretty much everyone enjoyed what he put out, maybe not perfect but it was a solid album. And we are all going to check out the next one, be it good, we will be able to enjoy both of the works in their entirety depending on our mood, be it bad, well at least the first one was fire and his name already made some spark in 2015.

C-Murder-Life Or Death
Life_or_Death.jpg

There is no stopping the No Limit tank. Platinum album after gold album and the streets craving some of that gangsta rap goodness. It’s time for the middle brother of the Miller boys, C-Murder to come through with that good ole gangsta shit entitled “Life or Death”. Silkk has the label covered with commercial type of tracks, while C- Murder covered the gangsta raps for the rumble tumble dudes (word to Slim Charles). Life or Death is probably one of the hardest rap albums I have ever heard. It’s old school, but still has that No Limit flare throughout each track. The album starts off with an eerie intro setting the tone for the album as it goes into the single track “A 2nd Chance”. A 2nd Chance gives the listener a glimpse of C’s world of violence, drugs, and remorse which becomes the theme of this album. Tracks like “Akickdoe!”, “Get N Paid” (homage to Special Ed’s I got it Made), “Picture Me”, G and Macks”, and “Ghetto Ties” tackles these subjects to the tee with hard hitting Beats by the Pound flavor.

The No Limit roster comes through along with UGK to fill that feature void, however C Murder holds his own through each track. I really want to give this album a 10 because I’m a sucker for albums that have a steady flow and theme throughout them, however there are some setbacks. The 2Pac jockriding was in full effect by Master P which killed my high during the listening session. Also, some tracks needed to be left off of Life and Death. I understand that quantity>>>quality, especially with the marketing scheme of P to move records at an alarming rate, but this album would have been perfect if it was condensed to 13 to 15 tracks.

Bottom line, this album is a must own for any hip hop fan and probably C-Murder’s best album out of his lengthy discography of rugged gangsta tunes. Despite the nickpicking, Life or Death truly deserves a…

Overall Score: 9.5

Dre announced a European tour with Em, Snoop, and Kendrick. No dates but sounds like they're formulating the plan.

sheeeit

I'm guessing this is that Up in Smoke 2 Tour Dre was talking about earlier in the year.

Which leads me to the question: Where the fuck is Cube? Xzibit? Kurupt?

You can't say those cats are too dusty when Uncle Snoop and Marshall are there.

Whatever game is doing as far as the constant name drop ass kissing it must be working because he constantly gets every single rapper who matters on his albums. He is either paying a fucking fortune for these features, or has blackmail photos of all these dudes drunkenly fucking each other.
