After the hood success of I’m Bout It, I think it’s about time for another movie by No Limit and this time with a budget beyond a RCA camera and a tuna fish sandwich. Master P finally releases his second movie entitled “I Got the Hook Up”, but this time it’s jam packed with movie stars such as the original Kevin Hart…AJ Johnson, John Witherspoon, Tommy Lister, Jr (Debo), the old lady from 227, and many more. Will this movie be better than “I’m Bout It”….sighs…maybe. I Got the Hook Up is basically an Atari 7800 version of Friday with even more hijinks than the movie. However, most of these hijinks are not even funny and the movie is just one big clusterfuck of events. The plot of the movie is Master P and AJ Johnson known as “Black and Blue” run a hood flea market that sells broken appliances. A driver accidentally delivers cell phones to their establishment and they decide to take the phones off of the driver’s hands. Unfortunately, this plan was a disaster waiting to happen as the cell phones were busted. This resulted in a local crime group losing their money to random strangers that found out about their deal, because of the broken cell phones. Fuckery commence as Black and Blue spend the whole movie avoiding the Tiny and his crew, plus the FBI.
Beyond the ridiculous plot, I Got the Hook Up is an ok movie that tries to be funny, but receives a few chuckles. It’s not an Oscar worthy movie, but it’s a good Netflix clowning with your friends’ type of flick.
Now the soundtrack, it’s pretty good. The album is packed full of superstars like Jay Z, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Eightball and MJG, Snoop Dogg, ODB, UGK, NO Joe, Montell Jordan, Mack 10, and many more. I Got the Hook Up starts off with the track “Hook it Up” featuring Master P and Bone Thugs and Harmony to start the soundtrack off right. Tracks like “Ghetto Vet”, “What the Game Made Me”, “Let’s Ride”, “Who Rock This”, and “What You Need” serves its purpose by hooking up the listener to plenty of bangers.
Bottom Line, it’s a pretty good soundtrack for what it’s worth. Slow moments at some points of the album, but it’s a good listen for the car or headphones.
Now he's doing movies. HOLY SHIT.
I hate to be the one to break it to you, but nobody gives one single fuck about these reviews.I'm just getting at the tip of the iceberg. He cooked up some stinkers during his 98-99 run. Next movie coming up is Da Last Don around the time of his double album.
They're both mediocre.Btw...
Documentary 2>>>>2.5
I'm enjoying 2.5 but it's not messing with 2 by any means.

Waiting till friday to hear 2.5, hopefully it's not bad enough to tarnish the first half. It's up there as one of the top albums of the year.
It's far from bad, but I prefer the first disc. I appreciate the west coast vibe from 2.5 though...
But the cat came back the very next day, The cat came back, we thought he was a goner.
He said later this year. All I know is that he has a song with makonnen and post malone, hasn't really said too much about the projectbut when is asap ferg gonna drop?
Romeo! was a show that aired on the Nickelodeon in the early 2000s that starred Romeo, who is the son of Master P. In the show, Romeo plays a typical kid who is in a band, goes to school, and deals with the troubles of being a teen! Master P is there for him to give him life advice and help him out, but we all know that he just misses the days of when he used to be a successful rapper and wasn't the co-star of his son's show. The show is better than the movies that No Limit did produce in the 90s, so I'll give the show that
