For real, was it a self imposed ban? He seemed aware he was a goner but there nothing bannable in his posts.

He was a cool dude.

If it was self-imposed I can see why.

RP lived on GAF. Highest poster in GAF-Hop OT 14.

GAF must have been consuming him. He must have realised he needed a serious break.

I never knew modern day rap could be this good (and trust me, I've tried to listen to a lot of modern day rap) until I heard this album. David Burd takes his uprisings as a middle class Jewish guy who used to make commercials for the NBA and takes them all to the next level as he presents us with his rap persona..Lil Dicky. Now, Lil Dicky is that dude that we went to high school with and still lives the same life that he did a decade ago (and lives like it too), but that makes it more relatable for everyone out there (like myself). What this album does that most parody albums fail at doing is present itself as an actual rap album that you and your homeboys from the lacrosse team can blast on the way to the party that the chick from your Freshman 101 class is throwing and NOT come off as someone who "ironically" likes rap (as this album has features from great rap legends such as Snoop Dogg, Rich Homie Quan, and Fetty Wap). If you listened to all of the Lonely Island albums for some reason and wanted more of that (and some more), than this album is the one for you (also, check out the sample song I posted and see how Lil Dicky is blessed to be able to make a rap video without using any of his own money)!

Score: 8.5/10

Pretty decent album. I'd definitely give it a high 6 or low 7.

I know not many dig Pharrell... but his Othertone radio show with Scott Vener on Apple Music is really good.
It's on fortnightly and each show has a different musical theme and special guests.
On so far have been:
Justin Timberlake, Cara Delevingne, WatchTheDuck, Puff Daddy, Thundercat, Chelsea Peretti, Tyler the Creator, HAIM, ASAP Rocky, Q-Tip...

This week's show has Skepta and Jamie Woon.
It's on now, they're playing some good stuff man.

How was the Thundercat ep? I'm curious what Pharrell thinks of To Pimp a Butterfly. Sounwave said that when they were in the studio with him it seemed like he didn't want to give Alright to Kendrick. He didn't play the record for him, out of his engineers basically said "ayo P, play that one record for Kendrick" lol.

The Thundercat episode also had Puff and Chelsea on with him, so Puff being Puff dominated the show and it turned into a Bad Boy retrospective type thing.
Thundercat didn't get to say much lol.

I get the thing with Alright though I think.
For GKMC they recorded five new songs, then Kendrick heard an unreleased N.E.R.D beat from a couple of years ago which he wanted to record on.
That ended up being the record he chose, which was Good Kid.
Pharrell thought he should've went for one of the new beats...

So this time around P wanted to give him some new stuff, and Alright was old(ish) at that point and had gone to Fabolous a few months before but again Kendrick heard an old beat and wanted it. Pharrell was probably reluctant because he wanted them to make a new track together this time around and because he'd already sold that beat.

Fab eventually put the original out, it's interesting to hear without the Sounwave additional production.
Kendrick even wanted to keep the original Fab hook, which is why Pharrell did it over.

The dude gave that silkk da shocka album something like a 9.5 and the other one a 7, he has clearly completely lost his shit being on gaf too long. A break will do him good.

That Kacy Hill EP is pretty bland. I like the Yung Gud remix tho.

Yeah. I got suckered in by my love of pale skinned ladies. So too, apparently, everybody along the chain of production on that thing. The underlying production is solid, but she cannot sing. She can't sing. Flat, warbly and thin. You could have thrown any dozen soundclound superstars on it and it would've been at least good.

Haha this is probably well known, but that's some funny shit. Jay Z is immortal.

No.
After they're live you can re-listen to some shows for a while (a week maybe..?) then they're gone for good.
I guess they're trying to mimic actual radio but it's crap.
Some of the Q-Tip shows need to be archived somewhere, they're truly amazing!

Here's one way that might work but it also requires a Mac. You plug in your iOS device into your Mac. Launch Quicktime and start a New Audio Recording using your iOS device as the source. Play the radio show and your Mac will record the show and keep it as an audio file. A looooong audio file

Not tried it myself, and have no idea how big the audio file will end up being of a 2 hour radio show.

Last night I was hanging with a friend and she was playing Kevin Gates nonstop. First time I've ever listened to him tbh...he has some bangers.

This is a really good idea!
Cheers, I'll definitely try it next show :)

(kinda forgot Quicktime exists, haven't used it in sooooo long)
