What indication is there that he's being stomped in popularity, one concert, y'all are so quick to spell death or decline for Kendrick and TDE. And while the streets might greatly favor Future the streets aren't indicative of the overall status quo especially the over thirty crowd and women who I'd wager buy more albums anyway if record sales are any indication.

Kendrick is far from dying or declining. I just meant his Control verse focused on the fact on how he was going to overtake everyone else and raise the bar for rap as a whole. But right now it only seems like he raised the bar for critically acclaimed albums of rap. Which is still a fucking huge feat, he's in contention for AOTY which is something that hasn't happened for a rap album since 2010?

Idk I am definitely not as well versed in this as you are but I think a lot more factors go into play than just album sales. Like you said it's about demographics. But also radio plays, streams, concert tours, etc.
I am hearing less and less of Kendrick outside of debates for AOTY. That's all.
edit: Also I didn't just mean Future, was just using him as an example. Cole & Drake were two guys mentioned by Kendrick and they just have such a bigger following. Although to be fair Drake's following is something that is rarely seen in most genres because of his pop appeal.

i think despite future's chart topping success this year kendrick will always be the more known entity.
Just wait. I'm sure Kendrick is putting in work behind the scenes. Not hearing him as much doesn't mean much...future is still riding his wave. You can't expect new Kendrick to be on rotation all year round, especially with the kinds of projects he wants to do, and comparing it to someone who is in the midst of their season is kinda weird metric wise
He's only more popular right at this very moment because he's coming off the release of his biggest album yet and a Drake collab, but if we're talking about solidified hype Kendrick has him overall.

I disagree with all you said and I love his music. His verses are straight garbage, it's all about his delivery and flow. And how can you say plenty of people fuck with him when the dude does Troy Ave numbers?
It's not a matter of being known, his YouTube videos got millions of views, but no one actually supports the guy. Most people sincerely don't give a fuck about him, and that's a shame but it is what it is.
