It's gonna be funny seeing Meek Mills on some independent record label in a couple years, having his cars repo'd, dissing Ross for stealing his money.

put your savings account to use, brehs.

Hip hop really needs some vet to step up and school these idiots on investing in mutual funds, setting up savings accounts, and spending wisely.

Man hes gonna turn that yelling to a whole new level. Screaming on Ross like his dad.

Hahaha you mean being a prison guard for dudes who sell cocaine.

Same diff.

But on another note, because of my move to another continent, I'm a bit behind on the popular music. I just got MMLP2 and listened to it.

On the Esch scale, its a 6/17.

He's just out of shit to say and he admits it many, many times on the record. He's talented, but he's just out of shit to talk about so he spits nonsense, plays with screaming, accents, jokes and random bullshit. And if I have to hear him say some "clever" line before dropping the beat and saying "GET IT" one more time I'm going to shit in his elevator.

Meh. Just Meh.

savings account? dear god no, id rather blow it on gold chains then put it in a savings

ROTH IRAs brehs

savings accounts are insured by FDIC up to what, 250k? i hope meek has more than that, he might need it soon

HiResDes and anyone else who used to watch wrestling please read this thread.

I'm holding out hope that Ric is a big hip hop fan and actually learned how to use a computer so he could join thecoli.

for real though rappers have two ideas for their money,

1) savings accounts
2) hair-brained schemes
Really if I was them and it was pretty clear I wasnt ever gonna see Jay type longevity id just set aside enough for a fast food franchise or something. Probably Rozays best move in the last couple years. I find it funny that dudes like Paul Wall are sitting pretty because they spent their cash on something like that instead of trying to make people think you're a hustler or smoking it all up.

Maybe
Idk, but every dude in our generation should know that you're not gonna see shit from CDs/savings. And honestly you should never put stock in medicare etc being around for us either. that era is dunzo total. It sucks to admit it, but but people our age should be putting some aside right now for when we retire.

Ross has never gone plat, and his albums have steadily sold less than the previous for awhile. GFID barely went gold. To say he hasn't been chasing another BMF isn't true. So Sophisticated, Hold Me Back, 911, No Games etc are all generic trap beats that don't really capture the magic of BMF.

Club buzz doesn't mean anything if you aren't making any progress on the charts. No Games has flopped, especially when compared to other Future tracks.

Actually he went over 700,00o twice and very different points in his career... steadily sold less doesn't make sense..

but whatever you say.

uhhhh

First album: 750k
Trilla: 645k
Deeper Than Rap: 440k
Teflon Don: 724k
GFID: 550k

Spot the outlier. His sales have a general downward spiral. I'd bet money right now that Mastermind won't go gold in 2014.

I admire Gambino's ambition though. Even though the album feels heavily inspired by a whole mash up of different sounds (Drake, Frank Ocean, West, and Kendrick) I like the whole album quite a bit. I l feel as if the whole album comes across pretty cohesive, despite the blending; especially in the 2nd half.

He also cut off the whole "black kid who isn't accepted by both whites and blacks" bit. He sings more, which I'm okay with. And he dropped the Asian girl stuff completely. Like I said though, it isn't converting anyone. He still has "hashtag"/corny lines aplenty.

Pretty much my thoughts too. The second half of the album is pretty strong.

Thanks..loved the slow stuff on Camp, never had a problem with all his whining, prefer that over all that swag and boasting trash other rappers do (especially if they're wack as hell). Also love his corny punchlines. They're funny to me.

Not sure if I'll get this one though, that last tape (Royalty?) was complete trash outside of a few tracks.

hahaha that 3005 video is hilarious, song is pretty good as well.

He's rapping less and singing more like I asked for, and when he's not spitting some bullshit hashtag rap he actually seems to be pretty insightful. I see potential, and I like to encourage ambition.

Juan Epstein is awesome, this was mostly a blow out with Ye though. It was too short (like a third of the length of regular episodes), and even though they did probably the best job yet of reeling Kanye back from that fashion talk, it still ended up relatively taking up too much time. "We tried to contain Kanye, but why would you want to contain him when he gave us all this greatness?"

- Kanye alludes to avoiding features on other people's songs this year
- Wanted Theraflu on Yeezus too, Flex leaked it early so it was decided to be on CS/Khaled's album
- Everyone tried to act like they didn't like Cruel Summer even though they fucked with most of the songs (Story of GAF-Hop)
- No I.D. wouldn't let him use certain drums until he paid dues to earn them
- Yeezy's are his Jesus Walks in fashion
- So Appalled written while he was working at Fendi in Rome
- Find My Love was pretty much Kanye's song, he gave it away to Drake (previously we've only heard that he helped write or produce it but Ebro straight up says it was given away), when the song got big Kanye felt a type of way and had to adjust how he handled things
- The bridge in Good Life was one of the hooks, Kanye forced T-Pain to do 8 different hooks

Seems like the second part of the interview they just recorded them conversing off the air and put it out.. lol

The second half of the episode is them digesting what it's like talking to Ye, they talked:

- The business accumen aspect of why he has longevity
- "Creative autistic"
- Them backing up what Ye said about making retro Jordans poppin' again after they started struggling
- Why his arrogance and entitlement ultimately is substantiated, because a lot of other artists talk that same shit but don't back it up

Talk Eminem catching feelings about one thing Rosenberg said when they've been dickriding him otherwise, and Paul said "yeah, you can have him on your show.. when he drops MMLP3 in 13 years." Yo damn.
